Cool kids, great movies, stylish decor.. Gotta love the Dobie. I mean, seriously, you are required by local ordinance to love the Dobie Theatre. Failure to do so will result in a $500 fine or three days in jail.

Dobie is great!. I've gone to this theater three times and it has every time been great. I will go again many more times.

This is what a theatre should be!. Good films, nice people, quality projection and PERSONALITY! What so many other places lack, they've got heaps of at the Dobie. These people actually care about what they do. No apathetic teenagers and screaming brats. Unrated movies that the big chains won't touch. Lots of free parking, too.

Just right for UT. Set on the UT campus the Dobie Mall is not a typical mall, nore is the theater. It is great for a change from the average Holywood movie, there are all sorts of award winning independant films here. It is beautiful, old perhaps, but each room has it's own individual atmospher.

a fine arthouse. The theaters at the Dobie are small, but, this is the best place in town to catch indie and arthouse fare. I'd advise arriving early to get good seats. Also, don't forget to get your parking ticket validated. The folks in the adjacent garage can be a bit tyrannical about those pesky things.

Not the most comfortable digs. . .. . . . but there are some great quirky indie films that play there. When Hollywood's just under your skin, this is the best place to go for some great films.
