Never go to this Mall. This mall is awful! There is no other way to describe it. I needed a new swimsuit for my camping trip down on the guadalupe river that the Highland is the closest mall to my house. It is a decentley sized mall, but the directory is inacurate and is misleading. After attemping to find stores listed on the directory, I finally came upon customer service to ask where a few things were. Apparently those stores that I had been looking for had been closed down a long time ago. Good to know! I'll never go back there again. The bus stop IS creepy, just dozens of people hanging out in the street and around the area. The people who work inside of this craptastic mall aren't any better. Customer serive was terrible, the directory is no "directory" at all, and for some reason this mall attracts the trashy people with bad attitudes. I've never ran into so many pushy, rude, inconciderate people in one place in my life...and I used to live in Dallas!

Standard Stores, Lotta Potential Inside, Landscaping/Bird Waste Nightmare Outside. This mall is OK. It's a bit bigger than it looks, but still small. If you want to find your "standard" mall stores (the staples we are all used to)- this is the place: Hot Topic (providing you with non-conformist gear everywhere!), Cinnabon, New York & Company, Lerner, Victoria's Secret, Nine West, Aldo, Banana Republic, Dillards, Aeropostale, Yadda-yadda, (you've seen one, you've seen them all). Kiosk lurkers waiting to harass you and ask you if you want to buy what they've got. There are some other stores there that look like they are selling horrible Pic N Save wanna be ugh ugly clothes. I hope they leave and get replaced with some good indies and not your standard cookie cutter stuff.

For any of you that are from San Diego - think of Plaza Bonita, only, less gangsta (definetely more tolerable), but still very "highs school/teeny bopper-ish". Their food court is kind of blah, it's got the standard Cinnabon, no Panda Express, A sushi place with horrible sushi. I had my hair & eyebrows done at a place called Regis, it was blah, I could've gone to supercuts for the same thing.

On the PLUS side: It has a lot of potential. I've seen, some inexpensive indie clothing stores with REALLY cute clothes have started popping up. One of them is called "Imagine" (stop by there if you get a chance), and a few others who's names I can't remember. There is one place called "Gaylord's Hamburgers" (or something, but how can you forget a name like that, eh?"), it was SO GOOD. The burger was a bit pricey but dang, it was worth it.

Cookie cutter isn't bad, when you need your staples. They need to fix the outside to coax people in. Put in some landscaping, add some green. In the parking lot there are TONS of birds that take huge craps all over everything. The building looks like it could use a fresh coat of paint. There's a major bus stop there so you get the riff raff, they should screen it or hide it somehow.

I'll go again, in hopes that more cute new stores come in.

A North Austin mall with all the retail favorites.. In Short
Anchored by Macy's and a men's and women's Dillard's, Highland Mall serves the needs of almost any shopper. For the fashion plate: Forever 21, Guess, Jessica McClintock, Johnston & Murphy, J. Crew, and The Avenue. For the kids, there's the Disney Store, Limited Too and KB Toys. The fitness-minded will appreciate Champs Sports and General Nutrition Center. Godiva will satisfy sweet tooths, and the food court on the second level will serve the belly.
