In Short
This lush 30-acre preserve is considered one of the most beautiful spots in Travis County. The semi-tropical preserve on the Pedernales River offers a waterfall and a collapsed grotto. The grotto was formed over a century ago when falling water washed away the sand and shale beneath a limestone cliff to make it collapse. It is also home to the endangered golden cheeked warbler and dozens of other bird species.
