WARNING: High pressure sales, no way out contract! Much more legitimate non contracted martial arts businesses out there without all that BS! Do your research! Mr. Doss is not very understanding!

GREAT kids program. My daughter has been going here for a year and loves it. It has made a big difference in her self-confidence, attitude, and ability to focus. She's not exactly becoming a trained killer, but she's learning a lot and making steady progress.

Mr. Crow and Mr. Doss are outstanding instructors. They challenge the students to perform at the highest level in an encouraging and patient manner.

I’ve observed over 100 hours of class and never seen any instances of unprofessional behavior.

I think a real testament to this place is the range of belts the students have. If the kids didn't stay engaged, then it would be mostly yellow, white, and orange belts. But at PMA, you'll see that it is pretty evenly divided among all the belt colors. To me, this suggests that the kids that start with the program stay with it for the long haul.

We have not experienced any of the billing problems cited by another reviewer. I'm really surprised to hear of them-- Doss and Mike (office manager) are available, friendly, and approachable.

Problems with cancellation. My 13 years old kid joined Premier Martial Arts on May 2010 On August 2010 we left the country and asked to stop our payment as agreed when we signed.

Although we said that we leave town and although we have provided documents saying that we moved out of town they are still not willing to give up the extra payment. because the documents are not in English.

This ability to stop payment was agreed when we signed contract. And we were told that all we need to do is give them a phone call. Well about 5 long international phone calls were not enough sending and faxing documents is not enough and it's already 3 months and issue is still not working.

Perfect for the whole family. My family joined Premier Martial Arts on April 2010 and I am very glad we found this place. Our home was broken into in February of this year and our whole family was feeling vulnerable and we wanted to do something to take control of our home again. We chose Premier Martial Arts because of the variety of things they offer for the kids and adults. It has provided my 2 kids with self-confidence, responsibility, focus and respect. It has provided for me and my husband the best workout I have ever been part of and all kinds of self-defense strategies. Master Doss is very knowledgeable and have a huge experience in martial arts. The instructors, Mr. Crow and Mr. Duckworth are great. They are both very good instructors, very knowledgeable, great motivators, and excellent with kids. I would recommend this place to anybody out there. If you want a challenge - this is the place.

Very disapointing experience. I have to say that our experience with Premiere has been an extremely disappointing experience all the way around. My child saw a demonstration at a Cultural Arts Day at school and was eager to try the program. Mr. Doss gave an exciting demonstration and let all of the children have a turn to break a piece of wood. That is a big hook. We were told if we signed up that day we would get a special discount. He never indicated it was a six month contract with no way to get out if it didn’t work out for your child. He never said they would be using weapons. He never said the classes would be so full there was hardly any room for the children, and he certainly never indicated that there would be various other fees and charges for mandatory equipment for gloves, back packs, tee shirts, weapons, DVDs. Each time they meet they talk about what a great deal it is to be in the “Black Belt” Club….but he never mentioned that it is more expensive. So you pay $100 a month for 2 30 minute classes per week, where you children wait in line to do their activities. He has binder in his office that outlines the additional fees, which I had to ask to see. It was not shown during the registration. I found out about it when I was asked for an explanation regarding the requests for additional money. First it was $139 and the next request was for over $300.

Also, I gave information for the bills to go on my credit card and yet they were automatically withdrawn from my checking account - without my concent! The account was taken from the check I wrote at registration. Not good.

I did bring my concerns to Mr. Doss and was dismissed. He was extremely patronizing and honestly very intimidating. When I told him I was uncomfortable with the use of weapons he started demonstrating the use of one very close to me. It was kind of creepy. That is when I realized they were talking about teaching discipline, but they are really teaching blind devotion. I could not let my child participate in a program when I felt we were tricked and deceived. I never would have registered my child if I had known about all of the extra charges and the fact that they use weapons. I should have done my homework and really asked questions about the financial aspect. He gets the kids so excited because they broke a piece of wood and is so vague about the pricing that you have signed up before you know what happed.

I have to say they keep the kids in line and Mr. Crow seemed like a genuinely good teacher. Too bad the culture of commerce is so pervasive. So it was an extremely expensive mistake.

Oh and I did do my homework and found several other martial art programs that don’t make you sign crazy contracts, or use weapons and all of the details were given clearly and upfront.

Premium "billing scam" art. We are going thru a similar problem. It is a scam when it comes to billing. No clear mention of contracts, its length or cancellation policies at the beginning. You are trapped as soon as you sign off on the credit card authorization.

Could you share your experience on how you managed to work something out ?

Premier is awesome for families.. My son was the first to join Premier Martial Arts. I took him for his first meeting with Master Doss and was amazed at the sport. Master Doss asked how we felt about doing martial arts together as a family; we had never thought of it but it was an awesome idea. Now one year later my husband, my children, and myself are on our way to earning our black belts. The staff and training are awesome and I have lost weight in the process. There are not many sports where you can actually be involved and doing the same things as your children. This place has been a blessing and I highly recommend Premier for anyone looking to enroll in Martial Arts!

Billing problems have been resolved. We had serious billing problems with this school last year, but the owner rectified the situation. At this point my feelings about it are middle of the road. It's a pretty expensive activity, and they do try hard to upsell you to sign up for more, but the classes are excellent and it was good for my son.

This place is Great!. I found Premier on the internet. My son has been interested since watching teenage turtle movie. Read the reviews, some good some not so good. Well, i decied to try it out since they were located pretty close to our home. Master Doss taught my son his first trial lesson and he LOVED it. I was a little nervous enrolling him, but we saw LOTS of kids just his age, so that made me feel better. Anyway, hes been in classes for a couple weeks now, and we have seen huge improvements, and he cant wait to get to each class. I tried out the kickboxing class and and im loving it! Check this place out- My family loves it!

craptastic. My four year old daughter expressed an interest in Martial Arts so I took her here for a try out class. We set up a time to come in for a private class, but then Master Doss just told us to come back in an hour. So we kicked around and wasted time and came back for the class. The two instructors were young girls and I thought they were very nice and great with the kids. Master Doss on the other hand was extremely rude and very very pushy. He was not good with the kids and mumbles so much none of them could understand him. As soon as we walked in he started demanding high fives and yessir's from my very shy daughter and didn't take one minute to try to get to know her and make her feel comfortable with him. She liked the class, but as soon as we left she said, 'That guy was weird.' I couldn't agree more.

DO NOT RECCOMEND for parents who just want their child to have some fun. He was insensitive, rude and very unprofessional--not the kind of person I want my child to be around.
