Scary supervision. Dog Duty's field manager is a two-time loser for burglary, and I don't think I'd want him around my house unless I was there with my shotgun. For "managers," they use thoroughly disreputable persons.
Terrible Service!. I contacted Dog Duty to clean the backyard of my new house which had previously been occupied by two dogs. I prepaid them with a credit card over the phone so that they could come out while I was at work. When I arrived home that day, there was a trash bag filled with dog excrement in my front yard. While I was not pleased with this, I thought maybe it was not part of their service to haul away. Then, I was appalled when I stepped into my small backyard. Over the course of the weekend I picked up 15-20 dog piles that they "missed." I could not wait for them to come back on Monday since it was Easter weekend and I had children coming over on Sunday. I left two messages over the weekend and received a somewhat apologetic phone call on Monday saying they would issue a refund to my credit card. When I still had not seen the refund, I called back to see when I would get the $48.71 back on my card. The woman said that they would not give a full refund but would reduce the charge to $43.30! Unbelievable!! You should never use these people! My backyard is quite small and they missed tons of piles as well as leaving the stuff they did pick up in my front yard! Then they said they would issue a refund only to later specify that they meant they would credit me $5. I would at least have expected to get HALF of my $ back since they only seemed to pick up half of the waste in my backyard. Appalling service and then they did not even attempt to rectify the situation.
Dog Duty is great, but don't use Yard Duty!. I have been using Dog Duty since they first began their business, and I have been very happy with their pooper-scoop service. However, I used their Yard Duty service last year, and it was terrible. My first red flag was that they had me sign a contract in which I had to pay a monthly set amount, that supposedly is an average of the number of times they service your lawn in a year. Well, I caught them in a lie twice about whether they came. To make matters worse, instead of an apology, they gave me attitude, and told me I had to pay the monthly amount anyway. I told them I wanted to cancel the contract b/c of poor service, and they told me I couldn't. If I didn't like their Dog Duty branch so much, I would have cancelled completely. As it is now, I no longer trust completely trust them. Bottom line---they should stick to pooper scooping.
