In Short – Compact yet open, Portabla features a bakery case, a coffee bar and a small seating area. Modern gray chairs accompany round black tables, set off by vases of tall flowers. Most patrons seem to prefer takeout, so you'll have no trouble snagging a table right around dinnertime. Fresh breads, imaginative salads and a daily entree are the makings of a hearty, easy meal. Specialty pizzas include the rectangular Leonardo with spinach, garlic, provolone and leeks.

Best Cookies!

by RFrancese at Citysearch

I just ate lunch at Portabla with a few coworkers and it was amazing. I've lived in Austin since I was little and today was my first time in to eat. The soup was pork and lamb and it was delicious. The cookies were to die for...I had cookie with marshmallows in it and I wanted another. I will definitely be back.

So Impressed!

by txredheart at Citysearch

This food is delicious! I work downtown and my office was having a training so we ordered Take-out from Portabla. We all ordered these Panini sandwiches and they were YUM! They had basil pesto and provolone cheese...my favorites!! The homemade cookies were delicious! Plus, the service was GREAT! Let me tell you what happened: They forgot one of the sandwiches and I was picking everything up. I should have checked. I felt so bad, but since we were in training I couldn't get back in my car to get it. So I called to let them know and the CHEF/OWNER agreed to bring it to our office HIMSELF. Now that's service! Who does that anymore? I know he's a new owner for this restaurant and I guess he's aiming to impress! Mission accomplished! I can't wait to go and try it for dinner!

  • Pros: Delicious Gourmet Food, Excellent Service
  • Cons: I wish they delivered lunch to downtown!
