Not Great. The bed in the room we stayed at was hard as a rock. Had to fight to see who would get the couch which wasn't much better. I've never been to a B&B that served the same breakfast both weekend days. The owners were not very friendly, and although indicated they were pet friendly when I inquired did not turn out to be. Ironically, after chastising us for our lab barking when we initially arrived (our door knob rattled each time the front lobby door was opened), their dogs barked frequently the two days we were there. Although the location was nice, for the price I think you could find a better experience.…
Excellent Location, Innkeeeper Rude. The rooms are clean. Innkeeper(s) are gruff. Amenities are limited. Massive construction project in the backyard will wake you up early in the morning. Breakfast is inedible. However, great location. But, i think you could do much better for the price.…
A peaceful, residential setting in a convenient location..
The Scene
Located in the quiet neighborhood of Clarksville, this two-story B&B makes a nice retreat. It also offers easy downtown access for visitors doing business downtown. A wide front
porch and expansive back deck encourage old-fashioned Southern relaxation. The home's style is best described as Texas elegant.
The Details
Guests can choose from several rooms and suites. The notable Barbara Jordan Suite is named for the city's well-known senator and includes a parlor complete with floor-to-ceiling bookcases and a fireplace. A second fireplace warms the bedroom and adjoining bath, complete with a claw-foot bath. The B&B has added a second-floor apartment. With its living room and full kitchen, this spacious accommodation is especially popular with business travelers--it features a work space, DSL connection and telephone with its own private number.…
Perfect!. Beautiful 1890's Victorian home with a great back deck for breakfast by the pond. The Van Gough room was very comfortable for the two of us, with artwork and books about the painter. Robin was most helpful but unobtrusive as with some B&B's. We would love to stay again!…
The best home away from home!.
The best place imaginable for a warm and welcoming stay in Austin. Robin had the best breakfasts every morning and the Fitzgerald Suite was the best for our stay with five year old granddaughter.
We were close to the Dillo shuttle, close to a lovely grocery store, and to a playground. Brava House is set in the midst of a great neighborhood that I wouldn't mind living in some day. The back deck and front porch are both perfect for some quiet downtime of reading or just sitting in the sun.
Robin was very helpful with directions and info on things to do. We'll definitely be back for another stay!…
