Editorial Review for Sushi Sake – by Susan Kirr
In Short
Located in a sprawling shopping center, the restaurant draws folks working and living in the area. The interior uses neutral colors and textures to its advantage, with flax curtains, paper lamps and multitoned wood creating a natural ambience. A well-stocked liquor bar, sushi bar and two dining areas offer several choices. All the usual sushi offerings are here, plus some creative choices like the tiger-eye roll--smoked salmon, cream cheese and rice punctuated by jalapeno.

The fish is the freshest and the rolls are so creative! We had the spicy Carlos Roll- Excellent! The Escolar and Salmon were mouth watering good. I cannot recommend Sushi Sake enough. Even the service was great. We never wanted for anything and were able to take our time and enjoy the entire experience. It may not be for people who go for the California rolls, but if you like real sushi- Sushi Sake is the place to be!
Pros: The salmon is the best in town!
Cons: There are some things that are not on the menu that are to die for like the Spicy Carlos Roll. Ask your server about what they recommend!

The sushi is not that great in Sushi Sake. We had the California roll and Spider roll there. The sushi rice is great, moist with fine texture. However, the overall taste just wasn’t good. The Spider rolls taste… very fishy. After I had a bite of it, I felt like I needed to drink a lot of tea to cover up the bad taste. I won’t recommend this place to anyone. Pricey for that quality of food.
