Yummm!. Sign me up for the Great Hill Roll and a Singapore sling any day! Great food, good prices, fantastic service.
good food, reasonably priced, good service.
I have not had a bad meal here and have been dining here regularly, at least once/month, since about 2001.
They do need to be a bit more flexible with regard to seating policy, however, there have been times when I arranged to meet friends there when it was not at all busy-- many, many empty tables- yet they refused to seat us until all were present. I can understand that at peak times, but not when the place is practically empty.
Wonderful!.
Not on the meenu:
Spicy Carlos is to die for! Susan is a close second. Yaki Maki takes at least 20 minutes but it is wonderful: California roll topped with crab and scallop and a cheese topping then broiled until warm. Awesome!
Bentos for lunch are really good. I recommend the beef.
Miso is good. Edamame is good. Rice is sticky with a hint of vinegar. Perfect sushi spot. My family an I really enjoy it time and time again.
Friendly wait staff.
Special Taste. I love love love Sushi Sake. I am very excited that they opened another restaraunt downtown called Yu sushi. My favorite thing to order is their Spicy Carlos Roll, it is the best sushi roll that I have ever had. It has a combination of different flavors that make it very unique. It is not on the menu, you have to special order it. I go eat there all the time lunch & dinner, and If I had to choose over any other sushi restaraunt, I would choose Sushi-Sake
Yeah...really not so good..
I had high expectations after reading the reviews on this site, but I must say I was sorely disappointed. I arrived prior to the other person in my party and was told that I could not be seated until he arrived. I understand this policy...when a restaurant is busy. However, over half the tables in the restaurant were empty. The host was quite rude about it too. Once I was sat, I noticed that the table was dirty and I had to use my napkin to clean off soy sauce and rice from a previous customer.
When my server approached the table he seemed hurried and annoyed. I ordered a spider hand roll and waited about ten minutes to get it. Once it arrived it tasted very strange. It had a grainy texture and was not good. I asked the server if I had gotten the correct roll and he proceeded to tell me that he thought I had, but he needed to "inspect it" closer up. He took the roll from the table then returned with the same roll about a minute later.
The server told me that he smelled it and it smelled like crab. Hmm, the roll was even less appetizing now. My server SMELLED my food, to determine that I had been served the correct item. I told him it did not taste right and he shrugged his shoulders. He did not offer to correct it or bring me something else. BAD customer service. We then proceeded to order three more rolls. The tempura shrimps was ok, but our other rolls were sub par. Small and tasteless.
I was very disappointed in the food and the service at Sushi Sake. I will definitely not be returning. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the interior was nicely decorated.
Food is yummy!. The sushi is pretty good! I've only been at lunch time (lunchtime specials). The prices are somewhat high, even at lunch time...but I know the dinner prices are much higher!
Consistently EXCELLENT sushi, good atmosphere, we are hooked. I LOVE sushi. But good sushi has 'ruined' me, in the sense that if I am in the mood for sushi, I can't just eat cheap sushi and be satisfied. The rice has to be just right, the fish fresh, the seaweed fresh. I have been just about everywhere in town, and Sushi Sake has been consistently excellent. They have never let me down in their quality. I'd recommend Sushi Sake hands down to anyone who loves sushi as much as I do, and to those who want to try it for the first time, alike. Oh-- and the Spicy Carlos, and Spicy Susan rolls are not to be missed (they're also not on the menu)-- they are excellent for those who are new to the sushi experience.
Incredible Sushi for REAL Sushi lovers!. The fish is the freshest and the rolls are so creative! We had the spicy Carlos Roll- Excellent! The Escolar and Salmon were mouth watering good. I cannot recommend Sushi Sake enough. Even the service was great. We never wanted for anything and were able to take our time and enjoy the entire experience. It may not be for people who go for the California rolls, but if you like real sushi- Sushi Sake is the place to be!
Not good sushi : (.
The sushi is not that great in Sushi Sake. We had the California roll and Spider roll there. The sushi rice is great, moist with fine texture. However, the overall taste just wasn?t good. The Spider rolls taste?
very fishy. After I had a bite of it, I felt like I needed to drink a lot of tea to cover up the bad taste. I won?t recommend this place to anyone. Pricey for that quality of food.
