In Short – Bull McCabe's is an authentic Irish bar, but don't arrive expecting shamrocks and a tenor warbling "Danny Boy." The low lighting falls over the worn-in benches and stools that line the small room. The jukebox tends more toward the Chieftains and U2, keeping the mellow feel through the busiest of days, including St. Patrick's. A friendly staff serves pints of Guinness and Harps to a clientele of rugby players and off-duty restaurant and bar employees.

I had fun there. My friends and I had a good time when we visited Austin. There are a wide variety of people of all ages. The place gets a crowd later in the evening. If we lived in Austin we would probably be regulars. We never felt like we had to wait an eternity to get a drink and our drink tab was reasonable.
