Phenomenal cardio, muscular, detox, and stretching...in one.
Yogagroove has 3 brand new massage rooms with 4 fabulous massage therapists on staff, practicing a wide variety diverse techniques. It is especially wonderful to help work out the kinks post yoga practice when your muscles are all warmed up, keeping the lactic acid from settling into soreness.
I recently received a massage from James after I had woken up earlier that morning with a pinched nerve in the back of my left shoulder blade making certain postures in my yoga practice quite painful. I take ballet in the evenings and was worried that i would not be able to go that evening because lifting my left arm with any sort of head tilt was excruciating. My cabre back on the left side was still a little painful but nothing like when I awoke that morning. James has a tender but assured touch. It felt more like rollers kneading into my back and neck than hands. He utilizes all parts of his arms, finger tips to elbow, in a flow that is very relaxing and rythmic.
I would recommend all of their massage therapists, as well as, recommending the studio for your yoga practice.
When I first starting attending the studio 2 yrs ago I was surrounded by a room full of strangers and now it is a room full of friends. A variety of ages, backgrounds, fitness levels and they all come together for an hour and a half to help guide and push each other through one of the most difficult workouts/ active meditations that I have ever experienced.
Thank you.

Best Yoga Experience. Great team at YogaGroove, they deal with all skill levels equally and I appreciate that.... So will you. Every instructor is great and all of them have their own cool groove, and I don't think I have used "cool" as a description since 1974!!!!!!! But it fits......
Feel the burn--literally--with this active, heated Bikram yoga workout at the expanded facility in North Allandale..
In Short
The Bikram yoga practiced at the 5,500-square-foot Yogagroove involves more perspiration than meditation. Bikram is a total-body exercise designed to stimulate every muscle, joint and organ in the human body. Like its calmer counterpart, hatha, it revolves around deep stretching as a means of rejuvenating the entire body, with the 90-minute classes held in one of two heated (98 to 110 degrees) yoga rooms. After an expansion project in early 2009, the studio now has four showers, brand new ice machines, laundry service, child care and massage.
great workout. Yogagroove has a fun, funky, colorful vibe. They also have many qualified & caring teachers and many classes to accommodate any schedule.
Best Yoga in Austin!. Yogagroove is by far one of the best Bikram yoga studios I have ever practiced at. The teachers here are informative, energetic, and friendly. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner to this yoga or have been practicing for years; the teacher's notice your progress and breakthroughs. There is a community feeling at Yogagroove that is missing at many other yoga studios. Although the studio itself is older it is warm and welcoming. The yoga room is large and open. I love taking the 6 am class--when the first sunlight of the morning shines in through the big windows it invigorates the whole room. Keep it up Yogagroove!
fantastic total body workout. I found YogaGroove while training for my first marathon. I didn't think that yoga would count as a real workout, but I was willing to use it on my "off" days. Not only was I totally wrong about that, but it really helped me keep my body in shape and heal injuries during and after my race. Teressa's classes are my favorite, but all of the instructors are pretty good. If you want a hard workout that's truly good for all aspects of your being, you should definitely try it out.
