The French-country interior of this restaurant located on the east side of the main lobby of the recently restored Inter-Continental Stephen F. Austin hotel is sophisticated yet light and informal. Large windows provide a light and airy atmosphere with great people watching. All of the standard American breakfast offerings are here, including pastries, fruit and an extensive buffet. There are also regional offerings, including jalapeño scrambled eggs.

On Valentine's evening I had reservations for Cafe Julienne. We were seated 15 minutes after we arrived and given a less preferable table. Another couple without reservations were given a prime table because "they had waited". We were seated for fifteen minutes without recieving a menu and after sitting twenty minutes without even having our glasses filled with water, we left. This resturaunt was only filled to half capacity and could not even provide minimally acceptable service.
Cons: unprepared staff
