Editorial Review for New Braunfels – by Dawn Pomento
In Short
New Braunfels was settled by German immigrants, and that heritage is still evident today, especially during Wurstfest in November. For the historical side of the city, visit Conservation Plaza, where several original structures still stand. Then follow signs to the historic downtown for antique stores or authentic German restaurants. On warm weekends, follow the line of cars from I-35 to tiny Comal River for tubing and canoeing. Nearby Canyon Lake offers high-power boating opportunities.
