Best Austin Mover!

I am so happy I went with this company. We had to reschedule several times with little problem. Scott was able to fit us in with a last minute change to our move date so that was helpful. Patrick and his crew did an amazing job and it wasn't easy. We had contractors still working on our house so we weren't quite ready to for our stuff to be moved but we really wanted to get into the house. This was not a problem for Greater Austin Moving. I would gladly recommend this company to my friends and family they are a quality Austin mover.

Move your own TV

I would advise moving your own flat screen TV if you go with this company. I did get a great deal on the move I did with them in November and after taking a 35% pay cut over the last two years and needing to move to a less expensive place this deal could not have come at a better time for me. The movers were very friendly and fast. My estimated 5 hour move only took 3 hours to complete. Had it not been for the 700.00 flat screen TV that was damaged in my move that they will take no responsibility for I would recommend them. I've had the TV a little over one year and this was the first time it had ever been moved. It had been on the same TV stand since the day I brought it home and I've never had any issues with it. After the movers left my new place the cable guy showed up to install my cable within 2 hours and the TV would not turn on. I never received a call back from the voice mail I left that day but I did email back a forth a couple of times with the owner over the issue. Here is the last response that I received from him regarding the issue "We normally don't insure the inner workings of TV's so unless there is a way to tell if we damaged the TV I'm not sure how to handle your claim as there is no way to tell if we did anything to the inside of the TV. We have been in business since 2001 and have only had one TV claim and that was due to significant trauma to the TV." So unless your TV is visibly damaged on the exterior they will not take any responsibility. The inner workings of an LCD TV can be easily damaged if laid down flat but I was so busy running around doing last minute things during the move I did not witness how they packed it. I'm sure that no one meant to damage my TV, but damage has been done and their lack of responsibility is not only disappointing but it's insulting because it makes me feel like they are trying to imply that I am a liar. My advice, turn the TV on and make them acknowledge it works before moving and don't let them leave the new place until you have verified it still works after your move, or just move your own TV. Going forward that is what I will do! Other than my TV issue (that I cannot afford to replace) the move was great. Wasn't sure what to give as a rating, had it not been for the TV issue I would have given it 5 starts.

HORRIBLE experience with Greater Austin Moving!!!!!

I used this moving company a few years ago since it came up as one of citysearch's Best of Austin. I had a HORRIBLE experience. The movers that showed up were extremely sketchy and rude, they demanded I write them an additional check before they would move my belongings. The worse part was they left used BEER CANS and TRASH in my garage of the apartment I moved out of!!!!! They scratched up the front of my expensive front loader wash machine! When I complained to, Scott Bankston, the OWNER he acknowledged my complaint (and even said he had previous complaints about the CONTRACTED movers he sent!!!) and offered to refund me $200. I NEVER to this day have received the refund. First, he said he had sent a check then said he refunded the credit card I used. Despite multiple attempts to collect I just let it go. I would recommend staying AWAY from this moving company. My experience was AWFUL and I'm still owed $200. I've been meaning to post this for a long time and am going to try to get my experience out there on as many websites as possible.

Fast, friendly, stress free move!

I recently used Greater Austin Moving, and I've never had such a quick, stress free move! Patrick and his team arrived early and immediately got to work, wrapping all of my upholstered furniture with blankets and moving everything with care. They followed me directly over to my new home and quickly began unloading, laying out padded blankets in the house as to not scratch the floors and always asking where each item should be placed as they came thru the door. Patrick was very personable and easy to work with. And I was quick to call Scott, the owner, to compliment his team. All in all, a wonderful moving service that I will definitely be using again in the future!

Excellent service

Excellent service at a good price. Movers were punctual, efficient and made moving our office storage facility a breeze. Would definitely recommend Greater Austin Moving to anyone.
