Editorial Review for Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
Soft, golden light infuses the dark, burnished interior, with lots of dim corners for lovers to nestle into. Tawny woods, sienna-colored columns and satiny maroon booths are offset by honey-hued chandeliers and crisp white tablecloths. Couples, business associates, and the well-heeled populate the sedate space. The New York strip is dusted with salt and pepper and sizzled around the edges. Tuna mignon rolled in crushed peppercorns is quickly seared; inside, it's still sushi-pink.

Not consistant, Bad Prime Rib, tough like a cheap cut of meat. Other times the food was good, Good service good bar.

Pros: Nice place

Cons: food not up to par

There are too many outstanding steakhouses in Austin to waste time and money on this one. The service was terribly slow - over an hour and a half to receive our food. The food was not cooked properly: Either overcooked or undercooked. Management not present nor willing to take responsibility for a lousy dining experience. I don't mind spending $50 a person on dinner but not for slow service, rude and arrogant servers and management, and poorly prepared food. Try Ruth Chris or 3 Forks instead for the same price!

Pros: Great homemade bread

Cons: SLOW SERVICE, Rude servers. No management presence. Food not cooked properly. Overpriced for a mediocre experience
