good out bar. I will be @ kenichi this weekend, it is a good spot for cocktails on a sat night. Sushi is ok and prices are decent.
Terrible service.
I would not come back here.
My boyfriend made reservations for us and when we got there the place was empty except for a few other couples and they sat us in the back by the drink and plate station for the servers.
So the whole time the servers were hanging out right next to our table, talking about how annoying their tables were.
Our server, who only had 1 other table, was very nice but very slow. and the hostess barely even greeted us when we walked in. We told her we had reservations and then she just stood there and finished her conversation with another employee before she said anything to us.
The food was really good. And the Vegan tofu balls for dessert were amazing.
I probably wouldn't go back. Not worth the price.
good for downtown sushi. A little pricey for the quality of food, and the food is so-so. Also, the spice level isn't as consistent as I'd like. Two of is ordered the same dish with very different results.
The best dining experience I have ever had.. I don't write reviews very often but I felt it was deserved this time. I went to Kenichi for dinner last night and it was very busy. I had to wait a little bit but the maitre de was always in communication on the status of my table,( I did not even have a reservation). Ordered a cocktail and was given food recommendations by the bartender! Once I was seated my server was there immediately. I ordered the bartenders choice and was blown away, but before it came to the table a manager brought a coupple bites of a chef specialty and saiD thank you for coming in. Throughout the course of the meal everything was great. Table was clean, staff was informative and the manager checked how our dinner was before we were finished. They said goodbye on the way out even. I ran a restaurant for many years so I notice everything. I must say FLAWLESS!
Unprofessional Staff - Rude Hostess. Went to dinner at Kenichi on Saturday night. A very young hostess named Jenna is completely rude and unprofessional. She gossips about patrons and I never saw her greet anyone. She is very immature, and a terrible representative for this once trendy hot spot. The rest of the staff was fine, the bartender was great, the food was good and fast, but why have someone as awful as her in the front of the house, it just sets up the experience to be a bit of a dissapointment. Your staff's behavior makes a huge impact, especially with so many dinner options near by.
A little more expensive, but you get what you pay for. The food is a little pricey, but it's really excellent. The wine list is broad, with a lot of unique and delicious selections. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, it's a great place to have a nice night out and have some great food, without getting too stuffy.
Great Experience, everytime!.
Great experience, everytime! I love Kenichi whether it be sitting at the bar for happy hour, sushi bar or dining room.
First of all, HAPPY HOUR. Great rolls, saki and cocktails. All extremely affordable and delish! Great selection overall!
Second, SERIVCE, the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable. We often let the server choose a selection for us and they never fail to deliver. The bartenders are very attentive and friendly as well!
Last, the FOOD, its awesome! It always fresh and I love trying new things. I've never had eel before I found Kenichi, but now I love it! The sea bass is also amazing, and its never ceases to impress. My fiance is not a real sushi fan, but he LOVES the hot rock, order kobe or escolar and you'll be happy you did.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun and new experience downtown. Be adventurous and let the server choose your dishes, you will be impressed and may discover something wonderful that you haven't tried before.
Hands down most consistent spot in town, period!. My night usually starts out at Kenichi and I am almost certain to be greeted by one of my favorite bartenders in town; Kristin, Eboni, or Gary. The atmosphere and vibe there is always alive and going strong. The Super Trio are front stage of it all every night. Sushi is great and the service is as good, if not better. Even if your not a sushi fan you can always find something to eat and always a good time.
