Mondays are rough, but you know what helps? Monday night rock n' roll karaoke at Beerland. If you can't get no satisfaction (har) from their playlist, Beerland will happily let you bring in your own music.
A real music club. This is the best place to see non-douchey bands in Austin. No B.S., no posers, just a good little bar with cold beer a kickass bands.
excellent live venue, employees are actually werewolves. Put on your drinking shoes and throw some silver bullets in your pistol, because a night at beerland is sure to include two things: one hell of a good time, and inevitable werewolf attack. The bloody marys are outstanding, and the werewolves are fierce and bloodthirsty.
Cheap cover plus cheap beer plus interesting acts equals garage-band heaven..
In Short
Beerland somehow manages a warehouse-yet-cozy atmosphere. Bands play in front of concrete walls, so you feel--and it sounds--like you're in someone's garage. Co-owner (former manager of the Bates Motel) Randall Stockton's passion for music is reflected in cheap covers, and regular performances by Austin's best punk, metalcore and garage rock. Beerland offers a full bar and drafts including Real Ale, Live Oak. Some brews, including Lone Star and Pearl, go for cheap.
Fun fun fun. I love this place. The bartenders are really friendly and you can tell that everyone who works there really cares about the bar and their customers.
LongLiveBeerLand. Somebody said, "Bring back Liberty Lunch!" Somebody else said, "Bring back Bates Motel!" Still a third person shouted, "I'm gay! And it's okay!" Well, somebody listened, to the first two, and that somebody, well, that somebody was actually two people: Randall and Donya. And they have total punk-rock credibility for transforming and empty cinder-block space into the best small club to see hard rock in Austin. They've embued the place with their own legacies, and it shows.
Beerland is ROCK heaven!. I finally got to Beerland last week and saw The Punkaroo's. Randall is bad ass, the beer cheap, the Jager cold! I can't wait to catch the DIRTY SWEETS there some day.
Long live Beerland!. Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun! The music is loud & the old arcade games are cool.
