So Good!. I have eaten here many times - for both work lunches and for dinners with family and friends. The combo dinners are excellent. Everything is very fresh and artfully prepared. The last few times I have gone, I have decided to be more adventurous and try new things. The sushi rolls are amazing. Some of my favorites are: Paul Special sushi (tuna (and herbs?) with a very thin slice of lemon on top - the flavor combination is incredible! Chirashi Sashimi is a combination of different slices of fresh fish, arranged on rice. The white tuna was amazing and the whole dish looked like a flower garden. Spider roll is sushi with soft shell crab - very good! Phoenix Roll has tempura shrimp and is topped with a spicy sauce. There is also a Plum roll that has cured plum and is slightly salty. Very good as a "finishing" sushi dish.

The restaurant was recently remodeled and the paintings are beautiful.

Overall, one of my favorite restaurants in Austin!

Fresh and delicious Japanese food in town. This is the first choice of Japanese restaurants in Austin that we will go to. After going to Tokyo Sushi for 4 years, I would have never gone to other Japanese restaurants in Austin because others don't make the same Japanese foods like Tokyo Sushi. My top choices are the combos in the dinner menu. The chef is excellent in making pleasant and artistic presentation of each dish.

Great Japanese food. Love, Love, Love this place.

I rarely eat sushi, but I come here for the chicken katsu (amazing) and other Japanese plates. Sweet staff and always has food ready in no time!!

Surprisingly great sushi!. We came here based on the past few reviews and was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the sushi was! It was fresh, big portions and they had very inventive rolls. The "Snow Crab Heaven" roll was really heavenly, and everything came out quickly. I was at first hesitant to give it a try because we've been disappointed by many restaurants here in Austin. I have eaten in the largest cities of the U.S. from gourmet to ethnic, and especially in Houston, where they have the BEST Asian food around. However, I was impressed by this place - service, food and cleanliness were up there on my favorite restaurants. What I liked too is that it wasn't so overpriced. We also ordered the Dragon roll, seaweed salad, tempura appetizer and miso soup, and they were all excellently prepared and tasty. Give this non-descript suburban sushi place a chance and I'm sure you'll become a regular!

Very consistent quality each time we go weekly.. Some of the best sushi in Austin. A bit pricy but worth it. Rarely is there a long wait

either. So far, we have always had very fresh sushi. I especially like their sashimi

and the wasabi is very good and hot, the way it should be.

Must be a regular. I dont understand the bad reviews --At last count I had eaten at probably more than 200 Sushi restaurants in 4 countries and maybe 10-12 states. I will not say this is in my top ten BUT as far as Austin goes (and I have eaten at every sushi restaurant here at least twice) This is right on par with the top 3 or 4 in town --without a doubt. We have eaten at this one approx 20 times and I would say I never experienced what the reviewers did here. I guess they give the regular customers the "good stuff" Try it at least twice and then see what I mean (also It cant be that bad if Coach Royal and his friends eat there also)

Bad Service, Bad Sushi. I stopped at Tokyo Sushi on my lunch break one day and I will never go back. The tuna in my spicy tuna roll didn't look like any tuna I have ever seen before - and I've eaten a lot of spicy tuna rolls. The waitress was also very unpleasant and charged me more for my rolls than the menu listed price! When I pointed it out to her she just said "sorry" instead of correcting the mistake. I finally left anyway b/c I had to get back to work but I didn't leave a tip.

The price of Musashino minus the quality and the atmosphere. Plain decor, loud cell phone intruder, fluorescent glow, aloof service possibly prompted by language barrier.

The food - though not terrible - was far from spectacular and did not warrant the $100 for two tab delivered at the end of the meal. Note: we ordered an all Sushi fare plus one glass of wine each. The Sunomono used reconstituted algae and too much cucumber for the dollar. The best part was the wram edamame, which can be accomplished at home for a couple of dollars tops. While the fish was OK in terms of freshness and flavor, it displayed poorly under the incessant aura of fluorescent bulbs. The fish looked "more dead" than I have ever noticed at a sushi bar, if that gives you the idea of the overall experience. The place was quickly empty, and the staff proceeded to clean - rather loudly - as we choked down the rest of our meal. The $100 tab felt like .... paying $25 for two pieces of Popeye Fried Chicken. In short, we took this one off our map, for good.

Wonderful waiters and service!!. I love this little place it is so warm like a family eatery. The sushi is very good and they have wonderful salads, unidon soups and freshly made. I love to cook as well and it is a great place for fresh and good food. We are regulars and enjoy every dish I have had. I do not know anyone in Westlake that dislikes

Tokyo Sushi. Try the Sake and great fresh teas. Thanks Toko Sushi for a jobwell done!!
