The Scene
The Dullnig Building was erected in 1864 and operated as one of San Antonio's earliest grocery stores. Over the next several years, owner George Dullnig become an important local entrepreneur. As for his shop, it evolved into an inn that now offers a slice of local history to sightseers and business travelers.
The Details
Guest rooms and suites are decorated with a dignified simplicity that is highlighted by rich dark-woods, hardwood floors, brick walls and leather furnishings. Among its pampering touches are bathrobes, DVDs and VCRs, and practical perks include high-speed Internet access. Located in the heart of the city, this B&B is a short distance from the San Antonio Convention Center, the Alamodome, HemisFair Park, the Alamo and the River Walk.

The hotel was exceptionally clean, including my room. The rooms have hardwood floors, tall ceilings and vintage furnishings. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel has a great set up for both business travelers and tourists or couples. The breakfast was very good, with a variety of fresh fruit, quiche, and your basics like cereal, muffins etc. I am also a big coffee drinker and love the Community Coffee, which is strong, rich Louisiana coffee. This hotel is right in the middle of the bustling convention center area, so road noise could be a problem for light sleepers- but the "white noise" machine in my room blocked out most of this for me. The only major flaw I noticed was that this hotel is right over an inner-city McDonalds. On Friday and Saturday night the teenagers hang out all along the street in front of Mickey D's, and these weren't the most wholesome looking crowd. This is why I gave it four stars instead of five. I was there on business, but if my wife and I return to San Antonio, we will definately stay at the Riverwalk Vista.
Pros: decor, staff, room size, cleanliness
Cons: right over an inner city McDonalds
