first of all i had a groupon........ I had an appointment with the salon on saturday. They called twice on friday to reschedule. I had the appt set for 3pm. Apparently they had the stylist double booked and she was going to work on two clients at once. That was fine....but when i got in the chair the stylist looked at my hair and proclaimed that it was more than one color. I told her that was because I had highlights before and I'd like to get the same thing done. She looked at me as if i were a crazy person. She was rude the whole time i was in her chair and acted as though i had committed some crime by wanting highlights on my previously colored hair (hello - it's been done before) I told her i would like her name and my groupon back. I will not ever go to this salon again - i went to another salon the same day - without an appt and experienced great customer service. The stylists name was Lee or Leigh or whatever. This place was a joke.

I feel good about myself again!. I just went to Christina for a fifth time to retouch my highlights and cut. She is always so sweet and considerate. I love going to her salon. She has done so much to lift the spirits of the place. Since my last visit she has gotten a full staff and a variety of services.

Another thing I love about that salon is that they are always doing events and charity fundraisers.

Go check out Onyx Salon. You will love it!

This Place is Fabulous!. I attended their "Wine Down Wednesday" several weeks ago and loved the way the salon looked! Clean, uncluttered and beautifully decorated. Their staff was VERY friendly and enthusiastic! I booked an appointment for a few days later, and Christina cut my hair...she did a fantastic job - I will be going back! - again and again....

Carter Does an Amazing Job!. Carter is such an upbeat person and so are the others in the salon. You can have a glass of wine while reading a book while your color is being done, relax and just forget about the rest of the hustles of your day...( this is what I do!) I have only used Carter at Salon Valentine so I would reccommend Him I know he does great Hair!

Best Colorist, Stylist and Framesi Educator in Austin. Salon Valentine is a really cool salon conveniently located in North Austin. I specifically visit this salon to see Carter Lund. Carter is a fantastic stylist specializing in color, color correction and precision cuts. Carter has been a Framesi Educator for 11 yrs. He hosts educational seminars all over the U.S.and photo shoots where he is regularly featured in well known publications like "Ladies Home Journal." Carter is a true professional with amazing business acumen poising him to run successful salons and provide consulting services. When he is not teaching or maintaining clientele bases in Austin and L.A., Carter is attending seminars on the newest color and cutting techniques. He is a true veteran and knows how to correct any color snafu out there; including mine.

I am too young to have gray hair. But I do. I came to Carter after being fed up with my previous stylist's results. Carter patiently worked with me to achieve the results I desired. Today my hair feels like silk and my color is so stunning, my skin glows (even without make-up)! Carter's prices are excellent for the quality and experience you will receive. And he is extremely flexible with schedule. I used to do a lot of traveling for my job. He met me the day after Xmas at 7:00am last year! He manages to successfully balance his busy career with an awesome family.

Carter is simply the best. I would highly recommend him. You will leave with a smile. great haircut. Carter Lund is a genius when it comes to cut and color. But beware... he has this thing with unnatural bright red. I gave him free rein once, and had a red in my hair that was a little extreme. Have an idea of the range of color you want, and he does the greatest job!

Will not be visiting again.. I have been here on a few occasions to get my haircut but after this most recent experience I definitely do not plan on visiting the salon again. I arrived early as I always do for my appointments, but was not once greeted during my wait. The entire staff saw me sitting there but did not acknowledge me until my stylist finished with her client and asked if I was getting my hair cut. The shampoo and cut was rushed as it seemed that the stylist might have been running behind, and at the end I was not even asked how I preferred to have my hair styled. After this experience I would rather venture to downtown Austin to get a great experience, both haircut wise and customer service, than drive just 5 minutes to this salon.

simply the best service you could pay for!!!!!r. Carter Lund is the best hairstylist i have ever been to...and Ive been to alot in the Austin area. Carter moved from Trends salon just recently and I can tell you that Salon valentine is sooooooo cool. The decor is relsxing and the atmosphere is conducive to wanting to get Carterized...Thats what I call getting my hair done. carter doesnt just do your hair he creates a masterpiece using an Italian style method of cutting and coloring using the finest products on your hair. his scalp treatment are glorious!!!!! Carters ability to know exactly what color and tone to put on a persons head is PRECISE every time. Carter also educate other stylists on how to cut and color I noticed at the other salon his coworkers were consistantly asking him for his help. That definitely says volumes about his professionalism.

If you want to look your best and have an exciting time as well go see Carter at salon valentine

CARTER T LUND NOW AT SALON VALENTINE!!! MUCH BETTER LOCAL!. I love Carter, he is a genius. I would follow him anywhere. This salon is great, very clean, modern (yet warm), very fun. Matches Carters personality much better...

Bottom line.. its not the place, its the person behind the chair that counts.

Again last night, I gave Carter 'free artistic reign" to do what he feels best for my cut and color.. Again, he amazes me and never disappoints! It looks FANTASTIC, natural yet fun hues of brown and hints of red, nothing extreme, but just right for me... sassy, fun, flirty.... LOVE IT..

His 21 years exp and his accreditation as a World Wide FRAMESI ITALIAN COLOR specialist - pays off!

He is the best I have been to in years. I am faithful and proud to be colored and cut by this master!! Not to mention he really makes it a TRUE - "EXPERIENCE". Its not just a visit to get your hair done, its an "experience".... and did I mention the best hair wash ever! You have to go see him!

Best kept salon secret!. I have just come from an appointment with Carter Lund at Salon Valentine in Round Rock. I have been a faithful & consistent patron of his at "Trendz" in Austin for the last couple of years. Salon Valentine is the "breath of fresh air" that reflects Carter's attitude. Clean, friendly, warm, modern & alive. Carter stays educated & ahead of the curve on all the latest trends & styles. Every visit is "all about the client".
