My boyfriend and I eat here on a weekly basis!. We eat out a lot and have tried practically everything in San Marcos - this is BY FAR the best Chinese restaurant in town. Like I said, we eat here quite frequently and have never had a complaint. Our favorites are the Double Treasure, Chicken in Garlic Sauce and Chicken Chop Suey. It's delicious!

Can't you quit complaining.. I am sick and tired of people complaining about this restaurant. They are fantatsic, and always good food. I would like to see you cook this meal at home including egg rolls soup etc. i guarantee after 10 minutes you will call for take out. Rose Garden is decent food. so stop complaining. if you dont like the food go somewhere else. that just leaves more room for us of those who enjoy the food. to you complainers and whiners i stick my toung out to you.

Favorite place in town. I'm usually at the music building of Texas State all the time, so when I get hungry, I ALWAYS go to Rose Garden. I think it's worth it to spend the extra buck or two over the cafeteria food that's further away. The servers are great (and really pretty :) ) the service is fast, and the food is always good. I gotta say...their portions are huge IMO. Overall...good service, great food, and good price.

Fresh and Awesome. I just have to set the record straight. I am a waitress at Rose Garden and we do not receive our meat precooked. In fact, we receive all of our vegetables and meat fresh and the cooks chop and prep EVERYTHING. Egg rolls, soups, everything is made right back there in the kitchen. There is no way that Theresa (the owner) would've said anything otherwise. Enjoy!

The BEST place in san marcos. I love this place. My fiance and i frequent this place more than any other restaurant. Rose Garden is one of those restaurants you want to call "my place". The food is outstanding. The service is phenominal I totally disagree with the negative review below. Honestly, find something better than driving all the way back to demand your 20.00! How rude. Some customers can be just so arrogant. I applaud the man who stood up for the restaurant. The owners and staff are always kind and don't deserve to be yelled at. Dishes i recommend are the crab rangoons, crispy pan fried lomein, and their rice is wonderful.

Best Service in town. I find it funny that the previous poster had negitive things to say about this resteraunt, so i clicked the post to see what was fake about the food and was very surprised by what i read. I was actually waiting to pay for my dine in lunch when that girl came in being the most disgustingly rude thing i had ever seen. and I found it even more amazing that she was trying to return General Tso's because that's what i had just had for lunch and it was really great. The lady was being very kind to her and just asked to see the food, my guess was to make sure the girl hadn't eaten it all and then demanded a refund. The girl got very hostile and said that you can't see what's wrong with it it was the taste that was the problem. then the man in front of me started yelling at her because she was being so rude. when the whole ordeal was over i remember that the lady stoped the man from yelling at her and even apologized for him before the girl left the restaraunt.

I have never had anything but great friendly service and even better food. The wait staff is very attentive to the drinks and the food always comes out fast hot and tasting great. I eat at Rose Garden multiple times a week and I always have a wonderful experience.

best chinese food in town. Rose Garden is one of my favorite restaurant in San Marcos. They have the best sesame chicken in town and excellent crab ragoons.

This restaurant is worth weekly visit. Also, Rose Garden have been vote best chinese food for two years at the University Star.

terrible FAKE food.. my boyfriend & i used to eat here often, it's one of only a few in town. two meals not on a lunch special with soup & steamed rice will cost around $20 to-go, which i consider to be moderate & worth it for what i thought was decent food. HOWEVER, two days ago we ordered two orders of general tso's chicken, & two soups. the girl on the phone was incredibly rude, i got there to pick up our food, i paid & left only to get home, taste the chicken & think to myself-- hmm, this taste's weird. then to cut apart a piece & reveal an odd gray looking meat...

i threw it away & cut open another one-- it was all fat. i asked my boyfriend if he tasted something strange, he agreed & we called the restaurant to demand our refund. i told the owner (after being spoken to rather rudely by the same girl on the phone who took my order) that i believed our food to be undercooked to which her response was (this is a quote) "that's impossible, we don't cook our food. our food is precooked. we just put sauce on." what? i pay $20 for you to pour sauce on some precooked meat? some precooked meat that is obviously being stored improperly. as if that weren't bad enough, my experience with returning my GROSS food & getting my refund was the most painful thing i've ever been through in my life as the owner demanded to visually assess the problem with their "sauce"... to which i had to tell her several times-- it's not the sauce, it is the food-- maybe you should taste it? the cashier/order taker rolled her eyes at me several times. & i was heckled by customers. i will never eat here again & i suggest anyone looking for chinese food to stay away from here & their other location across from HEB called imperial garden. they're owned by the same people & their food is prepared the same. yuck.
