In Short – A Japanese rock garden, warm-colored walls and traditional Japanese artwork provide an elegant setting. The sushi bar is a favorite dining retreat for those looking for conversation or to watch the TV over the bar, however tables and traditional maru dining offer space for larger groups. Origami is known for its sushi, which features the dragon roll with eel, cucumber and avocado. For those looking for sushi alternatives, there's shabu shabu plates and yakisoba noodles.
Best Sushi in Round Rock

Dont let the strip mall location turn you off, this is one of the best sushi restaurants in the Austin area. I have eaten here many times over the last few years and rarely have I not been happy with the experience. The sushi is fresh and the decor is very warm. Seating at the bar, regular tables or on the floor if you want the traditional feel. Good selection of rolls if thats your thing. For those that want cheap, try going for lunch.
- Pros: Quality, Selection, Decor, Lunch Deals
- Cons: Price (where can you get good cheap sushi?, nowhere)
Nice food but EXTREMELY over-priced!

I have lived in Japan and so enjoyed the authenticity of this restaurant (the owners actually being Japanese).
However, this restaurant is certainly nowhere near upscale enough to charge the prices they do.
We had a bottle of wine (which I purchased before at HEB for 8 dollars), a few sushi rolls, and gyoza and for three pepole the price was 80 dollars.
I left a 20 percent tip but have since read there is already a tip included in the price.
I was disappointed that an otherwise nice restaurant could be tarnished by greedy managament .
This restaurant is charging more than Rappongi hills prices for a simple restaurant located in an ugly strip mall in Round Rock!
this is the real thing, go here!

recently told to check out this place in (of all places) round rock. this is THE BEST SUSHI outside of sticking your face in the ocean. i travel to japan frequently for business and can say this place must have smuggled back some talent. they have people who actually speak japanese and know the food! i found the prices were comparable to others in austin. the service was good and very friendly. went to another place last week called beluga just to see if this round rock thing was a fluke...goto origami.
- Pros: best sushi in austin area
- Cons: in round rock
