We love this restaurant!. We love this restaurant. The menu is surprisingly varied; the food is always great; the service is fast and friendly; the customers themselves are diverse and friendly; the atmosphere is relaxed. Who would guess that a "forest-green," cinder-block restaurant with a bandstand and a parrot outdoors would be so well managed? Or have such a great chef? We recently moved to the area from Austin; and for the first time ever, we now have a favorite family restaurant, and it's just around the corner.

Inconceivable!. I wasn't aware that cell phones were such a rare commodity these days. Cell phone companies practically give these things away for free. I might be able to sell one for what, a whole $5 on the street? The honest staff even searched for the cell phone after the family had left the restaurant, hoping that maybe they had dropped it on the way to the stage to see the music. However the waitress was later accused of taking it because the husband had a "bad feeling about her". Customer service is upheld with outstanding priority and each customer is appreciated the same as the next at Nutty Brown Cafe. Stealing is unheard of and would of course reflect poorly against the restaurant. The food is amazing; the music and atmosphere, even better. Everyone is responsible for their own possessions and to accuse the restaurant and it's staff of STEALING A CELL PHONE?..reflects poor character.

Nice Family Place for Tex-Mex Food. Nice place especially in warmer months to eat out on the shady patio. Food is standard Tex-Mex fare, but Nutty Brown does a nice job with the classics (CFS, burgers, etc). Also of good interest to families is Kids Night on Tuesdays, they have a great balloon twister for the kids and kids at heart, a big plus for this area with limited options for kid-friendly venues outside of fast foods.

Bad Food + Bad Service = Bad Experience. We got there after a long day at Perdanales Falls. We were starved and would eat just about anything. The five of us ordered our meals. Two orders were so bad that they it had to be brought to our server's attention. My Frito Pie was disgusting. It was made up of stale Fritos and very salty, dry ground mystery meat with chili flavoring. The meat had more crunch than the chips. I took one bite and pushed it away. My friend ordered enchiladas. Imagine the same Frito Pie mystery meat stuffed in enchiladas. My friend sent the enchiladas back and ordered the oysters. The server just ignored me and my Frito Pie. When the bill came my friend was charged for the enchiladas they took back! Asked for a manager. After ten minutes of further being ignored, we left to never go back!

Nice Place for Family, Friendly. Went to this restaurant with my son (age 8) and my sister and her son (age 4) on Tuesday night we did not want to cook for the kids. The kids ate for a buck a head and we got good food at a good price. Staff is very friendly (if you're looking for a snobby place, this ain't it!) and Cafe has a nice balloon twister coming around for the kids. Overall, a good experience.

great place for live music. Nutty Brown is a great outdoor live music venue. It reminded me of a mini Backyard. The food was good as was the table service. The bars were really swamped the night i was there and it did take me a while to get a drink. It is fairly close to town and had ample parking. Overall it is a very cool place.
