Best Pizza I have ever had!. Pros:

*Pizza that I dream about at night-no joke

*Down to earth, tattooed, friendly, and usually very attractive staff.

*Reasonable prices

*Free punk shows...cmon! Can it get any better?

*the wait is worth the mouth watering goodness that results in hand made pizza!

*cons: It's not located in my house :(

& as for the reviewer that said their pizza "sat under a heat lamp for hours" I am 99.999% sure they don't even HAVE a heat lamp IN The Parlor.....

is there even any ROOM for one?! Ridiculous.

Pizza plus free, all-ages shows lure East Austin punks.. In a town known more for tacos than pizza, this family-owned joint slings delectable hand-tossed pies, but there's more heating up the place than the ovens. Free, weekly rock and art shows make this eatery

a destination for those seeking cultural nourishment along with some grub--and watching a band give everything they've got right next to a massive pizza oven may earn more respect than if they were playing

onstage at a club. Both locations have lovely outdoor patios, well-edited jukeboxes and inspiring murals of legendary musicians; the portrait of Alice Cooper says, "We don't 86 you, you 86 yourself." So behave.

best in the Universe. By far the best pizza I have ever had. And every time, it is perfect. I am completely ruined for other pizza forever. If they ever close, I honestly don't know how I will go on. I spend the majority of my visits at eh Hyde Park location. They have a well stocked bar and Fireman's 4 + many other beers on tap. Ray is the best bartender there. My only issue is that they sometimes close earlier than what is listed on the door, with customers inside. (not too cool).

Otherwise- it is pizza paradise.

Most Importantly - Good Pizza. I've rarely sat to eat at The Parlor, but I pick up orders from them about once a month or so. If you like a good thick crust and fresh toppings, the pizza is the best in town. I do agree that it's better to order a whole fresh pizza than individual slices, and the beer prices are a little high (which is why I order for pick-up), but the pizza is the best I've had since leaving Chicago.

bad pizza!. the pizza had been under the heat lamp for hours...it was rubbery and brown...the only reason I choked it down is cause I was starving and had a few. i recommend ordering a fresh slice or not at all.

Service - where?. The bartender was actually complaining to regulars about how "new" people were ordering too much beer and food; sorry to keep you employed for that one night. It won't happen again.

Good ambience and mediocre pizza. The place is in an interesting area on North Loop and it was quite parked up. The place itself is a hole in the wall with a small stage. All the pizza is made a in a small oven behind the bar.

The pizza I had was pretty tasteless except for a slight burned flavor to the crust.

Overall, good ambience, bad pizza on my one and likely last experience.

Laid-back bar, crazy good pizza. So, excellent dough makes for bad pizza? Huh?

Different tastes, I guess, but all of my friends salivate for pizza from The Parlor. It's the freshest, most yummy melty cheese with my favorite crust of all time. The only downside is that they don't deliver, but if you call in your order and show up 20 minutes later, you'll generally be right on time.

As far as the bar experience goes, the beer prices are a tad high, but not bad at all for a neighborhood bar, which is what The Parlor is. The one on 43rd is an easy walk from my apartment, and there's nearly always good people watching to be had and a bitching jukebox, plus they have a full liquor license. The North Loop location (serving beer only) is where the bands play, but I prefer the 43rd place because there are more tables and more room. The bartenders are always nice if you have any sense of humor whatsoever.

Great neighborhood pizza joint. The pizza is not quite as good as Conan's or Mangia but beats all the chains. It is more of a bar than a pizza joint and if you are looking for someone to wait on you hand and foot, this isn't the place. It has great beers on tap, including lots of local brews. The jukebox is effin awesome! My main complaint is the prices are high for beer...maybe a cheap Lone Star Longneck night would be great. The best thing about this place is it is three blocks from my house and I can walk there, eat some pizza, drink some beer, and then stumble back home safely. The bartenders have always been friendly, I guess some people just see the tats and piercings and assume they have an "attitude".
