East Austin restaurant is a go-to for brunch and mariachi..
With the walls covered in signs touting elements of the lengthy menu, even ordering is a dizzying experience. The food will also overwhelm; stuffed tortas (sandwiches), cheese-covered platters of enchiladas, grilled meat and poblano peppers served with warm tortillas are all excellent. The rich, spicy food goes down well with a house-made Michelada, a spicy tomato juice and beer cocktail which is a meal in itself. This is not a quiet spot: The walls shout, the jukebox blasts, and throughout the day, mariachis alone or en masse play rollicking tunes for customers.
