Dr. Shahryar Kavoussi is the best doctor ever

I had a tubal ligation in 2007 during a previous marriage. In 2009 I remarried and my husband and I decided we would like to have a child together, so I set about searching for a good doctor to help us out. In March of 2011 I found Dr. Kavoussi, and from our very first meeting, I felt incredibly comfortable with him and confident in his ability to help us achieve pregnancy. In April my husband and I took out a loan for the full amount of the surgery and scheduled our date in May. My surgery was unsuccessful, due to my excess weight and not through any fault of Dr. Kavoussi. Even though my surgery failed through no fault of his own, Dr. Kavoussi still seemed to view this as a personal failure and even called me personally on a Saturday to see how I was feeling and discuss what my other options were to achieve pregnancy. While this has been a long, painful journey for me, and I won't be able to achieve pregnancy due largely to the financial aspect and that my husband is deploying with the Army, as soon as I can afford it, I will DEFINITELY return to Dr. Kavoussi and the rest of the wonderful staff at Austin Fertility and Reproductive Medicine.

Takes the time to listen

My husband and I were having a hard time working with today's fast paced OBs that could take the time to consult with us on trying to get pregnant. We wanted an expert in the field of fertility to atleast take the time to consult with us and explore and answer some questions we had. We were very impressed with Dr. Shahryar Kavoussi knowledge and experience and especially the time he took with my husband and I gave us the confidence we did the right thing for some consultation.

Because of Dr. S Kavoussi, We're Parents!!!

For as long as I could remember I was always told I would have a very hard time getting pregnant. After a devastating miscarriage I decided to seek help and my OB referred me to Dr. S. I was so nervous at first but from the start he had a plan. He was honest with us about the risks of fertility treatments and made us really think about the options before starting. Our first round we were pregnant and were soon faced with a tough decision regarding high order multiples. He was very caring and referred us to the right place for assistance. He continued to monitor me until I was 13weeks and I cried after I left my last appointment. No matter how things were looking he was very compassionate and always made me feel like I was the one and only person on his mind even though I know I wasn't the only one seeing him.

After a difficult pregnancy and 3 months of strict bed rest ordered by my OB we now have very beautiful twins. A boy and a girl! They are three months now and our life is complete.

Dr S helped us complete our family, for that he will always have a very special place in our hearts!

Highly Recommend Dr. S. Kavoussi!

I originally saw Dr. S. Kavoussi for suspected Endometriosis and fertility problems. He was the first doctor to take me seriously and suggest a plan of action. Since then I've had one surgery, several consults and several rounds of fertility treatment. He has been patient, positive and kind the entire way through this difficult journey. Dr. S. Kavoussi never rushed me or made me feel stupid for asking questions. He always seemed genuinely concerned with how I was doing. I also appreciated that he never pushed treatments and always allowed me to go at my own pace. I saw him for appointments twice on weekends and had several personal calls from him after surgery and blood work. My husband and I joke about how he must never get to go on vacations. He is always so available for his patients. I would recommend him to anyone seeking help with fertility or endometriosis.

Was reluctant to see a male doc, but glad I did!

I was referred to Dr. S Kavoussi when an infertility evaluation indicated that I had a blocked fallopian tube and would have difficulty conceiving due to a very irregular cycle. I was *very* hesistant to see a male doctor, but he was the only reproductive endocrinologist that my insurance would cover.

I'm now GLAD that he was the only option because it has been a FANTASTIC experience and he's truly the best doctor I've ever seen. He is caring, attentive, detailed, thoughtful, professional, knowledgeable and understanding! My questions were always answered promptly, my concerns were always addressed and when I was finally successful conceiving - the doc seemed truly happy for me. That meant a lot.

Sure the office is a little outdated, but I'd MUCH rather have a GREAT doctor then a flashy office, and he definitely is.
