Best Mexican Food in town. Guilty, I go to Maudie's AT LEAST once a week, everything is great! My fav's are the breakfast tacos, migas and the chicken tortilla soup....and the chips and salsa

I love this place. This is your classic Tex-mex place!. The food is really good, and the prices are great. This location is popular, and well run and clean. The lunch specials here cannot be beat!

The food is your standard tex mex fare. Its is all very tasty. None of the items are too adventurous, which is good here, as its standard Tex-mex done well.

The drinks are great here as well. It gets really busy here, so be prepared to wait.

Great Tex-Mex. We've been to Maudie's a few times now and always have a good experience. The Queso is good and the beef is really fresh...love the taco salad! Great neighborhood place....

Sundays at Maudie's. My husband and I go to Maudie's every Sunday for breakfast, I love the french toast and he enjoys the Migas

the service is great, the prices are reasonable, I really like the atmosphere too, we are thankful to have Maudie's in our neighborhood because there are not a lot of newer places that have a classy feel to them. Plus they always remember to fill up my coke!

Decent food, good if you live in the area. There's still not a lot of restaurants near Brodie and Slaughter, which is a plus for this Maudie's. Otherwise lost in a crowd, the Maudie's stands out here amid the pizza delivery places and fast-food joints. Overall, it's not bad, but nothing special. I recommend the Skinny Sheryl's, especially for those watching what they eat. Corn tortillas filled with tender chicken and covered in a spicy green sauce. It's surprisingly filling and one of the cheapest entrees on the menu. For being in a strip mall, the decor is pretty nice and attractive.

Just Average. Don't bother visiting before 11am. I have never been to a mexican restaurant that doesn't have chips and salsa before 11am. The Pete's breakfast tacos are great, despite the store bought tortillas. Home-made tortillas would make Maudies 100% better. Overall, service is average, but better at the bar. The food is ok, breakfast tacos are good, and tortillas must be bought at the Randalls next door.

part of the family. we have been going to Maudie's for 10 years, switched from lamar to this one when it opended. Food is just as good and I like the atmosphere, but it is just a little too loud inside, especially when you end up gettng seated by the dirty dishes drop off. But we are hooked and go every Friday night!!

Nice place, average food. Great location and good service were the highlights of our trip to Maudie's newest location. The resturaunt has a nice and casual atmosphere, and the wait wasn't very long. If only the food lived up to the potential. The food came quickly and was well presented, but only amounted to below average Tex-Mex fare. Unfortunately, the adage about the "hole-in-the-wall" resturaunts having the tastiest Mexican food holds true here. Not much authenticity, and some of the important flavors are muted by a consistently overused spice. Will probably try it again, because the atmosphere and the drinks are a welcome addition to this area of twon.

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Latest link in popular local chain goes a upscale to spread "Tex-Mex Heaven" to South Austin's Shady Hollow Village.
