Our family has been with CCY on Spicewood since 2002. My oldest started when she was 10 months old, and we now have 3 kids there, ages 1, 3 & 5. We love Brenda Schultz who is the director. We have had no major complaints, and any concern we ever have had has been quickly and professionally addressed. While all daycare centers and preschool will have a hard time with turn over, this CCY has been able to retain many of the teachers, who are able to bring consistency and a loving environment that is felt throughout the whole school. Teachers who taught my oldest are now teaching my youngest. So the teachers come to know not only my child, but my whole family. The cirriculum is excellent, and we believe our kids are getting a great education. They also have fun and love their teachers. When you go to pick up your kids, and the kids say, "Mom - Come see this garden we are growing" or "Come read this new book with me" or "Please let me stay just a little longer so I can finish this project," then you know the kids are enjoying school. And when the kids run to give their teachers a hug, you know you have the kids at the right school.

I can't recommend this facility, because it's impossible to resolve issues with the staff. I've used 2 daycares in 9 years - this was one of them. I stayed with the other one for 8 years until a move forced us to find a new facility. This facility has many more amenities for all ages and is clean and has a good ratio of teachers to children. I have much praise for the other facility and in 8 years only had about 5 conversations that could be called complaints - all of which were resolved easily and quickly, with no hard feelings on either side. In a little over a year here, my husband and I have had over 15 conversations about our concerns regarding our children. The staff's turnover is high, which is certainly an issue (especially with small children), and I found myself trying to get the staff to understand what my child needed in order to be safe/healthy/etc. It was a common theme among many of the parents I knew. The teachers were the best recourse, because the director seemed completely unwilling to address any issues. Our opinion (and that of the other parents who discussed this with us) is that she is only concerned about giving the answer that protects the company - not the answer that solves the problems. We heard lots of promises but saw few results. Finally, when we found ourselves truly concerned about the childrens' safety, we left. I know several other families who are currently seeking alternative care as well for the same reasons.

Pros: clean facility with many activities available

Cons: high turnover, poor communication, unable to resolve issues resulting in safety concerns
