I found Dr. York to be very thorough in her examination of me, and that even though my basic need was for a mask for my cpap, my machine was also in need to be replaced. She and her staff worked with me to see that my needs were taken care of and I'm looking to have a good night's sleep tonight, and I'm so ready for it!
At age 53 I'm starting to feel like a new person thanks to Dr. York. She is very thorough and will provide you the BEST care. (Staff is great too)
Don't Waste Your Time. I wish I had half of the review's about Dr. Jennifer York of the Texas Neurology Center because the majority of the reviews are bad ones. I called to try and schedule and appointment and I found it odd that you had to leave a message and wait 2 days before they can call you back. I found it even more odd when I was informed Dr. Jennifer York can't be bothered if you have ever seen another Sleep Dr. Even if you saw your Dr. 10 years ago Dr. Jennifer York can't be bothered with you. I am glad I didn't waste my time or money with this Dr. Do yourself a favor and find a better Neurologist in the Austin area.
Dr. York really cares about my quality of life.... As a long term patient of Dr. York's, I am grateful for the ongoing professionalism and empathy. Dr. York asks insightful questions and actively listens to responses and potential concerns. In turn, she offers a straight forward, logical approach to ongoing and new symptomology. One of the reasons I appreciate Dr. York is because of her patience; she seems to be my only medical provider whom is not ruled by a stop watch! Despite that, I have never had to wait more than a few minutes past the scheduled appointment time. Overall, Dr. York is engaged in the diagnostic and treatment process and, most importantly, really cares about my quality of life. When scheduling appointments or calling for care related issues, the staff is consistently friendly and knowledgeable. When experiencing a delay by a pharmacy or another medical provider, the staff is actively involved in the resolution and excels at providing me status updates. Dr. York's employees are the icing on the cake to finding an intelligent, kind and considerate neurologist. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend Dr. York to family, friends and coworkers.
Judgemental and arrogant. A very rude and uncaring doctor and staff. If you're trying to call and speak with them, good luck on that, they have yet to return the many calls and messages I sent. I went there in person as I was out of meds and they seemed highly irritated that I had disturbed them and the doctor refused to see me or even help by sending in an emergency prescription. She made me feel like I didn't deserve her care. I left her office in tears after the first visit, maybe she should read some of that Christian lititure she has in every corner of her office. Don't waste your time here, I'm so sorry I did.
An Arrogant and Condescending Doctor.
I saw Dr. York for two years to help me with my sleep apnea. I found her so arrogant and condescending that I came to dread the frequent appointments she expected me to have with her. She prescribed that I use a CPAP machine, which worked to some degree, but it also caused me a great deal of discomfort, and it was very cumbersome to use. She would ask me a lot of questions, but I did not feel like she was really listening to my answers. I felt like she lacked empathy for what I was going through and like she was being very judgmental of me. She gave me the impression that if the CPAP was not working as well for me as she expected it to, that was my fault. She did not consider other treatment options.
I also felt as if she and the respiratory therapist she worked with were pushing me to replace the expensive CPAP equipment, far more frequently than was necessary.
Dealing with her and her office gave me the general feeling of being exploited. Sleep apnea seems to be a bit of a growth industry. All the snorers out there are learning that they actually have a serious life threatening condition. As long as people with sleep apnea believe they are dependent on you to get a good night sleep, there
Great Service.
I had a Sleep Study on March 10, 2011 at Texas Neurology. My technician was Rachael.
I wanted to write and recognize her for doing a fantastic job. I had a great experience, and she did a great job putting me at ease and making a potentially sensitive test easy and relaxed. I hope that you value her as much as her patients do.
Thanks for providing quality service.
I look forward to step 2 and getting some help for my sleeping issues.
Best Doctor? Worst Customer Service!.
With the two experiences that I have had she and her staff are not on time or friendly. In the service industry we are taught to under promise and over deliver they seem to go by the opposite policy.
The tech from the sleep study is especially rude and late with a expected time of 6:30 with a surly attitude of it will be done when I finish with no care about others work schedule. Although if the receptionist had said pick up at 6:30 but we frequently run late or some such then it would have set a better expectation.
I know to always allow extra time when waiting for an appointment to see the doctor but I haven't had to wait so long for them to be done, the others I have had are always efficient.
It always seems especially awful when you are being treated rudely at a doctors office where they should understand that you are in a difficult spot with medical problems as well as regular day to day issues.
I can only hope that the contact we have to have with the office and staff is minimal.
best neurologist!. Dr. York diagnosed me when no one else would/could! I'd seen many neurologist who said they were clueless and 1 who said my symptoms were self manifested! I was honest with her and on my first visit told her I was feeling quite well and I might be wasting her time. She quietly proceeded with a complete exam and stayed on top of things. It took almost 2 years to get the rare diagnosis. She also referred me to Baylor Movement Disorder to make sure that she would have support in my on going care as my disease progressed. She is likely an angel in human form with a brilliant brain!
Dr. York has made my life pleasent again.
I started seeing Dr. York in 2002 after seeing 3 other Neurologist who were unable to help me and it did take a while to help my migrains but we worked together to pin down the triggers and find the proper medications and I have now gone from more than 4 migrains a week down to less than 2 a month dependant upon the weather. Of course we all know we cannot control weather changes :0) but even now I have rescue medication for those awful migrains triggerd by the weather!!
Dr. York's staff are all WONDERFUL they are kind and curtious and they will all go out of their way to get to know you. I have never been treated better by any other medical office.
Kudos Dr. York -- Job well done!!
