Clean Room and Great Price. I stayed at the Red Roof Inn Austin North over the weekend with my family. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfortable the rooms were. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Our original reservation was for 2 nights but we ended up staying for 3. Next time we are in Austin we will be staying at the Red Roof Inn.
The hotel's quirky little mascot--a bobble head named Red--stands for all the comforts of home at a budget-friendly price..
In Short
The tiled red-roofed inn has been a mainstay for travelers in search of value and relaxation since 1973. Standard rooms boast cable TV, coffee makers and unlimited local telephone calls. Additional property features include free USA Today in the lobby on weekdays and photocopy and fax services for a modest charge. Deluxe rooms have the added conveniences of a small microwave and refrigerator. Families may request cribs and rollaway beds at no charge.
Avoid at all costs.
Dirty Sheet and Blanket, not even the comforter but the blanket and sheet. Makeup, and red dots. No problem, asked for a new sheet, got it. Went back to the room, the extra towels we asked for were not there. Ok still no problem, we are only going to stay for about 8 hours then graduation at UTexas. 2-3 Hours of gangbangers and their friends running around yelling, threatening people. I only saw that on site security guard do one walk by in 2 hours-- I was staring out the peephole trying to see if people were near my door. T
hen to top it all off, c o c k r o a c h e s!! Yes on the bathroom sink. Got the hell out of dodge. Do not stay even if it is cheap, go to La Quinta for $ 20 more. Sadly this place used to be very nice for the money but it must have a new owner or something. Appauling, worst hotel experience.
Affordable, Good location, Clean, and Security Provided.
This Red Roof Inn is located a few miles north of the University of Texas in N Austin. It is right off IH 35, and is also close to every major highway that is in Austin. This hotel is in an older building with rooms you enter from the outside. The rooms themselves have been very clean (both stays), and the staff was courteous, polite, and very helpful with directions. The neighborhood the hotel is in the outskirts of has little to be desired, but there is security on site, and their guards actually patrol on foot instead of occupying a desk. Their rates are affordable, and because they are a little cheaper than most, they do not offer a breakfast. Only coffee and papers are available in the morning, but they have a coffee machine, so tea, cappuccinos,or chocolate is also available. There is also a Mexican restaurant on site, and they open early if you wish for breakfast tacos or even a couple of eggs. This restaurant has a good menu, large portions, and really will save some cash because it is really affordable. Try the beef fajita burito!
Pros: Clean, Good Staff, Affordable, Safe
Cons: Internet is by t-mobile, so it is not complimentary, no breakfast items in the morning
Perfect place for people wishing to be close to Austin hotspots, are on a budget, and who are comfortable staying in limited service motels. This chain is comparable to Motel 6 because it is close in price, and both are limited service hotels. Because of this location I will be staying with Red Roof Inn instead of Motel 6.
