The spacious, comfortable room has stainless steel and wood accents that lend sophistication. Teppanyaki cooking is a form of tabletop grilling that allows chefs to showcase knife talents. Kobe's tables feature built-in gas grills and seat eight, so smaller groups sit communally. Chefs entertain with flaming "onion volcanoes"--onion-slice layers doused with oil. Scallops/shrimp combination features succulent shrimp, plus large scallops fried in butter and soy. High-quality filet mignon is rich and smoky. – – High Marks – "Their lunch special is the best...it includes a meat…

I loved it!!!!!!

by bunny09 at Citysearch

I just went to Kobe Steakhouse today for lunch with my coworker and the crunch roll was fantastic. This is my first time eating in this restaurant and I was totally amazed! I liked the sushi, the place and the service. My friend is a regular customer to this restaurant and she said it was really good and even better during the happy hour 3-6pm with half price rolls & sushis. Although I live in south austin, I will definitely go back more often and i'll bring more friends to this restaurant. I wish they'll open a restaurant in the south location. :)

Best Teppan around! Be careful how you order lunch or you will pay A LOT!

by Austellodi2 at Citysearch

Last year we wrote a review about this wonderful restaurant where owner Susan comes

to greet you personally. A lot of our comments remain the same. Now they have more chefs

that we can recommend by name...starting with Chepo, Sunny, Amazing URIEL, friendly George, Saul...you get it...we have been there quite a bit.

Wait staff does NOT do much to earn the 20% tip...REALLY! They tend to forget to bring the

rice...unless you get the fried rice from the chef...after paying a surcharge for that. Now they

have added a surcharge for the salad and 'we have a running joke" in our family that NO matter

how many people order a meal you get "a little zucchini" for the whole table and if you are lucky a couple of eggs if their is a whole large group!!! We usually ask chefs if The ONE

zucchini is kept at a special vault.

On the bright side...portions are excellent...chefs are friendly...the quality of meats is great

and size is just right...not too big, not too small...just yummy and healty!

*Waitstaff does NOT last long at all. Wondering here if it is due to Keith's stern look and

attitude? Or ....oh, well. The only long standing Thai looking waitress told us that managers

were TOO BEESEE (too busy) when we asked about the music being played!

They are too busy to serve rice or refill drinks..but not too busy to add a fat undeserved tip

to the check.

  • Pros: Good price in general
  • Cons: Watch out how you order or prices will break your planned budget
