Quick, tasty and healthy.. I had lunch today at the Congress location and it was a very fresh and tasty relief from the normal lunch fair. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with select veggies and white meat. The veggies were crisp, fresh and complimented the dish well. The flavor was standard but did not over power the meal; sometimes it can smoother the dish. The only down side was the grilled chicken breast which was a bit on the dry side. I would definitely visit again but would choose a different meal.

Good Food!. I've been to the Zen locations in both S Congress and north of campus, and it's great in both places. Nice atmosphere, good for a casual date. The food tries to be very need-conscious, with healthy or vegetarian options. Also I think everything is cooked without MSG which is rare for Asian food. The prices are decent for sushi, and I really love theirs. Also once a month they have a student discount night, so I'd definitely try to make it out for that!

Only issue I can think of is parking can be a little inconvenient at the Congress location during high-traffic times. Other than that, it's great!

AWESOME FOOD. I love this place, the food is great and not that expensive. Plus, they have discounts on certain days which is always a plus. Definitely try it out for cheap chinese food that doesn't make you feel like s**t the next day.

Delicious!. Great food! White chicken and broccoli bowl (sub tofu) is the best! Cool atmosphere too. Perfect for Vegetarians and meat eaters.

The prompt service, reasonable menu and light options combine the best of fast-food and sit-down dining.. In Short
This cool, simple interior features deep red walls, reed mats suspended from the ceiling, inventive halogen lights and utilitarian stools and tables bolted to the floor. Young folks on a budget come to sit and linger, but those who appreciate good food and fast service have also discovered it. Sushi rolls are super-cheap, as are dishes like sesame soba noodle salad--chilled buckwheat noodles in a sesame soy vinaigrette.

Great place for affordable sushi. I like the atmosphere here and love how cheap the prices are. If you are craving sushi and want a place that is quick and affordable, Zen is great. This location on S Congress can get crowded at times but I think it is worth it. My favs are the philly roll and the spicy tuna roll.

I love this place! Great food and atmosphere!. Zen has won me over, noticed this a year ago and started going to Congress Ave store, then opened up Guadalupe location and we love it there. The kitchen is newer, so are tools, the food is much better there. Love the Steak & Shimp w/ Udon, the Ahi Tuna is great, and this place rocks. The owner has a great thing but could do better w/ more marketing and expand on variety. I put in my 2 cents w/ the General Mgmt, but no changes after several months. Regardless, you gotta try it! Great for lunch!

Cheap, convenient, good value, fun.. Zen is in a great location on South Congress, right next door to Amy's Ice Cream and across the street from Jo's Coffee and the San Jose Motel. It's a great place to get nutricious fast food while hanging out in the SoCo area. The service is reasonably good but the lines can get annoyingly long -- they could do with improving the sales register workflow. The sushi rolls and rice/noodle bowls are pretty good deals.
