Perfect in every way. We have been twice just so we can continue to sample the many tantalizing items on the menu. Everything we have experienced so far has been wonderful....steaks, seafood, appetizers, dessert, and OH that bread! If you are looking for a nice, quiet, relaxed YUMMY place for dinner....this is it!
We will be back ...MANY TIMES!. Wow! Backstage was referred to us by a co-worker of mine a couple years ago. My wife and I finally made it out there yesterday. The only thing I regret is not having eaten there much sooner! My wife had the pork tenderloin and I had the filet, mushrooms and onion strings. If I were to describe the food, wine, staff (Bill you were great!) and overall experience in one word, I would say it was "Amazing" - We will be back ...many times! Not to sound selfish but I almost didn't want to write this review so that my wife and I could keep this hidden gem to ourselves.
Friendly Spicewood steakhouse is home to renowed local chef Raymond Tatum and his divine pork chops..
In Short
Backstage's homey atmosphere features a spacious patio, posters of Texas musicians and classic wooden decor and furniture. Live music, including solo guitarists, can be enjoyed on the patio four nights a week. The staff immediately brings fresh bread with rich, delectable shallot-garlic butter. Other starters feature pink crawfish mixed with Gorgonzola mustard and spinach salad. Juicy, smoked pork rack contains two-inch-thick steak complemented by chunky, sweetly sour pineapple-ancho chutney.

A Hidden Treasure. The Backstage Steakhouse is a hidden hill country treasure. Make an effort to find it and you will be rewarded. Great food and great service.
