Editorial Review for Cypress Grill – by Ben Niekerk
In Short
Stroll in and be seated immediately--feel like one of the family. At a maximum capacity of 75 seats, the layout is intimate and the atmosphere remains low-key, with adult contemporary music wafting in the background. The owners grew up outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and their Cajun accents speak the loudest on the menu. Dinner dishes start with salad and feature voodoo blackened chicken and chicken tejana--chicken breast stuffed with seedless jalapenos and cheddar-jack cheese.

We have been eating here for 5 years, since we moved to the area. It's one of our favorite places to go! The food is really really good. The service is always attentive. And the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this place if you're craving cajun!
Pros: Yummy food, reasonably priced, good service, nice atmosphere, good parking

Everything you'd expect from a slightly hole-in-the-wall-ish type cajun/creole restaurant. Oysters and shrimp taste fresh, whether served in an entree or fried for a poboy. Salads are refreshingly green - no boring iceberg here! The fried catfish is perfect - light, crispy batter and flaky fillet. One entree offers the catfish topped with crawfish etouffee.... indulgently delicious. My husband can't stop ordering the Troy's Favorite Lunch, which is a muffaletta with a side of gumbo. Tasty appetizers and desserts, too - try the spinach dip and whatever pies are fresh that day. Service can be a little slow when things are busy, but the staff are always friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage, try the "mojito" soda.
Pros: Fair prices, consistently good food, unpretentious service
Cons: Parking can be a little competitive, since there's a Gold's Gym in the same strip mall
