Owner not all there. Was charged more than what the services were quoted on the website. Not happy with the hair, but the owner, Ava, is not open to criticism. When she makes mistakes, she blames the client.

Interesting that everyone is providing this place five stars only - no fours, no threes.....makes you wonder who, really, is writing these reviews?

Fabulous haircuts. I?ve been going to Amaz for years, and every time I walk in the door there I feel myself relaxing. The atmosphere that Ava has created is serene and lovely. Each of the people who work at Amaz seem genuinely interested in providing a nurturing environment by the way they interact with the clients. Everyone is professional and yet approachable and caring. And I always have a good time when I?m there.

The haircuts I get at Amaz are the best I?ve gotten anywhere. Ava?s expert technique results in a haircut that not only looks great in the beginning, but also lasts. She has a way of cutting my hair that makes it grow out gracefully.

Over the years, I have come to know Ava as a person of integrity and heart. She genuinely cares about people, both in the salon and in the world. In so many ways, she is quietly making a difference in the lives of many.

I wholeheartedly recommend Amaz for Hair to anyone who wants the best.

Haute Smarites abound at this Salon!. This salon is by far the best in Austin. First off, I really enjoy the time I spend there: the staff are all very fun people and are very interested in making you comfortable; each is willing to lend an ear, give a hug, give encouragement, etc. Not that your stylist should be your psychologist, but I have listened to clients in other chairs talk their way through problems with the help of the stylist. Second, for all the comfort, they also run an impeccably professional operation. The shop is always nice and neat, appointments are confirmed, etc. Third, there is some great people watching to be had in the shop. Clients wear some of the best shoes I have seen in one spot in a while, which also goes to show you that well dressed, fashion conscious people trust these women! And finally, I love AMAZ for the compliments I get on my hair when I go out. People from the Saks Fifth Avenue make up counter to the conveneince store girl to waitresses at restaurants routinely comment on how nice my hair looks. I have referred many a friend and stranger to make an appointment at AMAZ.. You cannot go wrong with any of the sylists...they are each marvellous with color and cut! Also, I have told both Brenda and Ava, "just do what you want, I trust you" and I have never ever been disappointed!

Amazing and a positive relaxing atmosphere. Aside from the great (and I mean great and current) haircut and color I always get, I love the salon because the mood is upbeat and positive. I receive compliments on my cut and color around town and recommend Amaz . I like the individual attention and the individual look I get . The products are very useful ....I don't buy many, but the ones I get work exactly the way they did in the salon..Treat yourself.

My search is over!!. Today I had the pleasure of visiting Brenda at Amaz and from the moment I walked in the door I knew that I was in good hands. After moving here from Los Angeles I kept going back and forth to get my hair cut there because I was so nervous about finding someone in Austin. I have very thin, fine hair and usually leave hair salons feeling disappointed but today I left Amaz feeling beautiful. Brenda is such a sweet and talented artist; she took great care in listening to what I wanted and gave me more than I expected. I love my hair and Brenda!!

Deklynd is amazing!. I've been going to Deklynd for five years and I have never had less than a fabulous haircut and color. He knows that I hate spending a lot of time on my hair and he knows how to style it so that it is practical and looks great for my professional job at the same time. He is a master at color and making my highlights look natural. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

The best hair stylist in Austin. Deklynd Channing is THE BEST hair stylist is all of Austin, TX. Every time I get my hair done by him, I know that my hair will be absolutely perfect. From the color, to the cut and style, there is no one better than Deklynd. I have worked with many different stylists for photo shoots and Deklynd has been the best. I highly recommend going to check him out. You will never have to look for another stylist again!

Best Stylists In town!!!. Deklynd Channing is an amazing hair stylist!!! He fixed my hair after it was ruined by a stylist that works at a "well-known" salon on South Congress. My hair now looks great!! Thanks a bunch Deklynd and the folks at amaz!! I will definitely see you in 8weeks! ~A. Delacerda

The Best!. I find it sad to read some of the recent reviews about Ava and her team at Amaz for Hair. I have been going to Ava for 7 years. My daughter also goes there and not once have we had anything but an amazing experience.

A hair dresser recently left Amaz and he was clearly bitter about leaving. Instead of leaving professionally he has decided to launch some sort of juvenile smear campaign against a women whose experience far exceeds what he has yet to learn. I would not want to work with someone who has that much anger and who tries to use it to be destructive.

Ava and her team remain professional, fun to be with and exceptional professionals at what they do.

Hopefully the Ex Amaz employee's middle school behavior will cease very soon and he will just get on with his life.

not angry at all. I have never experienced anything close to rude at Amaz. If I were a stylist that wanted to keep my clientel, I would send them a postcard or e-mail to let them know I was moving. In fact I have had stylists do just that for me. I think it is rude not to do that for your customers...unless you would rather lose that particular customer. Don't blame the salon for this. The fault belongs to your stylist for leaving you in the dark. Ava and her staff always provide the best in customer service and in skill. Remember, you get what you put out.
