Do NOT hire for your wedding!

I was first attracted to Austin Party Machine to DJ at my wedding because of the price and the fact they were voted Best Wedding DJ on Citysearch for 2007(or so they said on their website) . At first, I was pleased with their customer service and they would always return my phone calls within a day or two.

But then the day of the wedding arrived....

1) My matron of honor called as me and my new husband were on our way to the reception after the ceremony and told me the DJ was NOT THERE!!! Of course, I panicked. It was 3:30 and he was supposed to be there at 2:45. All of our guest had already arrived at the venue. She called him to see where he was and he told her he had car trouble that morning. If he knew he was going to be late, why didn't he try to get a hold of me or my parents??? I had my phone with me all day, but he never called. He arrived shortly after that, so our limo had to circle around the block about 10 times so he could set up before we walked in.

2) We had given him a list of songs to play at the reception, but he failed to play all of them. Instead he decided to play "Baby Got Back" and " Come on ride that train", even though we had told him no rap music.

3) According to some of the guests at the wedding, they saw him sleeping behind the DJ table. I did not witness this so I can only report hearsay. But I would hope my friends would not make that up.

4) At 8:00, he came to me and asked when we would be leaving....as if he was ready to go because 8:00 was when his contract ended. BUT HE WAS 45 MINUTES LATE!!!! We were waiting on the horse and carriage to arrive so we could make our departure, but he seemed like he was ready to go.

So my recommendation would be to use another DJ for your event because, unfortunately, we did not have a good experience with Austin Party Machine.

Not a good DJ at all!

Don't know the rave about this company! First off they're excuse for everything is they have another job outside of their DJ job and they will help you as they get a chance when they are at home and can go over everything. Couldn't get a hold of Missy or anyone until 36 hours before the wedding. I was assured that I would get a phone call back and no one called, so I then had to get upset and explain to them that my wedding was in 3 days I need to speak with someone today! I was then told that Tim would be our "new" DJ after being told Missy would and on the day of Missy showed up. This was the only thing I stressed about, and I should not have had to worry about this at all. They even got some of the requested songs wrong and so we had to go over that again. I would not recommend this DJ service to anyone!! They are not customer oriented and Missy doesn't DJ well at all. Also, you are responsible for providing them with a table and skirted table cover. Shouldn't they have this already?! If we had not put a deposit down we would have definitely gone elsewhere for music.

Good DJ

Pleasantly surprised at what great service we received. DJ had a professional appearance, played great music, had everyone dancing...lots of fun! Recommended!
