MY TODDLER WAS HIT BY STAFF

MY TODDLER WAS HIT BY STAFF!
I have been a long standing customer at this Chuy's for YEARS!!! And what happened to me here this one night will ensure that I never go back!
As usual there was a 45min - 1 hour wait. Which is not uncommon as the food is generally good and the atmosphere is friendly. We had decided to come to Chuy's because we had some family in from out of town that likes to come here EVERY-TIME they are in town. However, they stated they would also never go back after this. The Bartender had made a visible and audible complaint about a question I had regarding the drinks, and what occurred with our wait staff member only made matters worse.
As we waited, we were at a table by the bar and chip area. We could see the servers typing in their orders and picking up their drinks. We had been waiting to be seated for about an hour and where called. At that point we had to let the hostess know that we were still waiting for the server to close the tab. My 2 year old son was standing by his chair as our server (at the bar) decided to throw a drink at someone passing by. My son was standing 2 1/2-3 feet from where the server was. The only person the ice and drink hit was my son (as first point of contact), the party at my table ( as second point) and some people sitting directly behind us. She not only projected the ice and drink towards my son, she then proceeded to throw the glass!!! The glass hit my son and bounced off the floor several times as the force with which it had been project.
It was so surreal to see the whole thing transpire!!!! I think the only time I blinked was when the water and ice hit my face and arm. I WAS SHOCKED! ! ! And needless to say my son gave the loudest wail I had ever heard out of him...he is generally very mild mannered and a good spirited kid. At that moment the shock caused him to start shaking and hyperventilating!!! I could not SPEAK I was so UPSET and as I scooped my son into my arms and sat him on my lap and I said " I need a manager right now"!
We were approached by several concerned staff members and customers that saw what had happened. They were concerned and also shocked at what had occurred. The empathy from the customers and staff members was the closest thing to an apology that we received.
When the manager go to our table he asked if my son was hurt. I advised him that I could not see any visible marks but that he was obviously affected by the servers actions, as he was inconsolable.
I stated to the manager that the servers actions were unacceptable. His response was, " I already sent her home, we are not sure if she will have a job tomorrow". I told him that we had waited an hour and then my son getting hit by the server was beyond anything we had ever experienced dinning out. So the next words he muttered were almost as bad as the cold water and ice on my face, he said....
"Well there is nothing I can do about it"!
My mouth hung open, and all I could muster was "WOW"!
My uncle touched my arm and in a low voice said " Let's go".
That is when the manager said to me " Well! , what did you want me to do?!".
I turned to him and said " You already told me what you can do....nothing"!
I implore all person reading this not to visit the Chuy's location in Round Rock. They are lacking in much more than just customer service!!!!
GREAT VARIETY

Having been raised in Austin, I've eaten a lot of Tex-Mex. I also lived in El Paso and Albuquerque, where the food is very different. Chuy's offers a variety of Mexican food on one menu, although none of it is really "great". If diners are looking for a dinner of local Tex-Mex, they might try another place. But, if you're looking for the kinds of food offered in west Texas and New Mexico, along with traditional Tex-Mex, then Chuy's is the place.
Top of the game

This is one of the best mexican joints around, which is texas is saying a lot. There are more mexican resturaunts in texas than bbq places, well maybe not that many. This one features long waits and strong drinks. Also some of the best salsa dips around. Sometimes I can leave without over eating but not often. Highly recommend !

very popular place to eat but well worth it. Chuys is perhaps the best mexican resturaunt in Round Rock or Austin.
- Pros: Food is awesome I love the Hatch sauce
- Cons: long waits
One of the best I've found.

Always look forward to Chuy's. Customer service is great unlike other places. Food is great. This place is definitely an eatery where many people gather to feed and drink so, if you are looking for a quiet, dining experience, perhaps you should try a taco bell.
- Pros: Customer Service, Good food.
- Cons: No 'really spicy' salsa.
