Nail Care 4 Everyday People

by FadedGray at Citysearch

I walked in for a peticure and was satisfied with the quality for the price ($30). The service included basic nail grooming and a foot and calf massage. I enjoyed the strawberry smell of a scrub used and overall, found the experience just fine.

Not being very girlie, I felt out of place, although, that is not at the hand of this particular business. However, it seemed a little rude for the person peforming the service to laugh at something unknown and spoke to her co-workers in a language not understood by the clientele.

  • Pros: Walk-ins/Short wait/Location
  • Cons: Scent of cleaning fumes/Language barrier

Great for Pedicures, expensive, but good - artificial nails not so much

by exoticnef at Citysearch

Have been a regular at this salon for over two years ... had to stop utilizing the solar nail service because breakage - reapir cost $5 per nail - peeling and side of nails cracking. I believe this due to technique, inaccurate application. Interstingly enough, the response to problems with breakage was a recommendation to have a manicure and cuticle cut the day prior to the fill.

I have worn Solar Nail products for over 17 years and this is the FIRT place and FIRST time, I experienced this issue. Also, when I asked another employee to give me a cuticle cut and manicure, I was told that cutting my cuticles would result in bleeding and splitting (actually true which is why I do not get this service often) in direct opposition to previous "buy" advice from two other technicians in the shop.

OPI pedicure is best, but expensive nonetheless ... stone pedicure is useless, and regular pedicure is best value for the money.

Recently remodeled ... pedicure thrones w/massage AND the greatest quick drying top coat that requires no time beneath an ultraviolet light !!

Regularly customers are pressed to sign up for one of the may "other" businesses run by the owner, i.e., candles, cruise travel, permanent makeup, eyelash enhancement, alternate power company, etc.

Staff is reasonably friendly once they have seen you several times, good for basic waxing & extremely clean when compared with other local shops.

  • Pros: close, OPI pedicures & waxing services
  • Cons: Long waits for walk-ins and appts time always run behind / expensive

Great Service

by lawyergerl33 at Citysearch

I was a walk-in recently at this salon. Although it was a Saturday morning and the techs were really busy, they were able to accomodate me immediately. I had an OPI pedicure done and it was wonderful. It lasted about an hour and included the best foot and leg massage that I have ever had in any salon, including a fancy day spa in Round Rock. The tech was very gentle and did not hurt or cut me. I am very paranoid about cleanliness, but was happy to see that they immediately clean the equipment and chairs after each customer leaves. I even signed a sanitation sheet showing a log of when my chair had been cleaned and learned that they use the more sanitary pipeless system. It is hard to find nail salons that are using these types of spa chairs.

The only thing that I did not like is that they do not have a price list on the wall. I walked in asking for a pedicure and the tech immediately said, "Oh, you want OPI pedicure right?" I didn't really know what that was and should have asked, but I told her "Yes." At $50.00, this is definitely the most expensive pedicure that I have had since moving here from Dallas. I was a little annoyed that she did not offer me the $30.00 perdicure first or offer me a price list and explanation of each service. But, I definitely should have asked before telling her yes. I just thought it was a little misleading to immediately offer the customer the most expensive peduicure. Other than that, I was 100% satisfied. I will go back for sure.

  • Pros: Friendly service, gentle on the nails, easily accessible location and plenty of parking
  • Cons: Expensive, don't depend on them to offer you one of the cheaper services, ask for a price list before you tell them what you want
