Beautiful Venue, Beautiful Staff= Beautiful Wedding!!!!. We cannot Thank the Allan House enough for saving us! We planned our wedding in about 3 months because of a horrible misunderstanding with our previous venue, leaving us in a lurch. I was panicked and unsure of how to begin a new search for a wedding site and the Allan House made it so very easy! They invited us to an open house, which happened to be that evening, where we could see what the venue might look like, it was magical! The staff is more than just friendly, they make you feel like they are actually your friends and look out for your every need! They listen to your ideas and helped to make them happen! They offer a gorgeous clear heated tent during some of the winter months (our wedding was Dec. 18) so that you are still able to dance in the moonlights, and tables and chairs are included (which in this economy was a huge bonus)! The venue is absolutely beautiful with its classic elegance, yet they embrace the natural beauty of the property! My husband was born and raised in Nashville, TN and I was born in San Antonio, it was the perfect match for our styles! They added extra lighting in the tent and the twinkle lights on the trees made such a romantic setting. They know what they are doing, they help you know what to expect, they know how to help, and most importantly they know how to put you at ease during such a busy planning period!

Perfect place for our wedding!. I know there are not a lot of reviews out there for the Allen House - I searched desperately for them since we planned our wedding from out-of-state. I can tell you honestly, the Allan House was the perfect venue for our wedding. We had only visited the venue twice before the big day, so we were just as impressed as our guests at how beautiful everything looked.

We heard the AC generators from the building across the street the day before at the rehearsal, so we asked our reception musicians to bring an extra microphone, which was a big help. I never noticed any noise the day of. Also, it is true, you have to arrange for your own parking, and catering, and everything else. That is a pro for some, and a con for others. We were happy to customize our wedding, and everything turned out just right.

The ceremony was held in the last few hours of October daylight, and the sun shone beautifully through the tree branches. At night, the lights in the trees added such a nice atmosphere to the reception. Our 75 guests had plenty of room to celebrate, between the outdoor area, the porches, and the charming interior. We will be forever grateful for the courteous and accommodating staff, and for their help making our wedding absolutely perfect!

Avoid. The people who run the house became extremely rude as soon as the contract was signed. We had initially planned our wedding for a Saturday, but switched to a Monday a few days later. They called two times to request more money for the Saturday, which we had canceled and they had given to another wedding. It took months to straighten out. On the day of the wedding, the staff acted as if our presence was an inconvenience. The upstairs room where the groom and groomsmen dress is not air-conditioned, so it was around 110 degrees up there. Right across the street is the county jail. There are air conditioners and generators that kicked on right as our ceremony started. They are extremely loud and it was hard to hear our minister. I blame myself for not noticing this on either of our three visits to the site, but the generators were never on when I was there. Parking is a major inconvenience, and the Alan House staff is absolutely no help. They act as if it is simply your problem. As we moved things onto the site on the day of our wedding, there was a construction crew working on the building and parked right where we needed to be. It took 30 minutes to get anyone to move. Our wedding was great despite the fact that it was held at The Alan House. I would suggest that every bride skip over this location and find another.
