Best Mexican food, three locations - all good!.
Having eaten at three of the Jardin family restaurants - Jardin Corona in CP, and Jardin del Rey in Leander and Liberty Hill - I can say the food is consistently wonderful no matter where you go. Prices are very reasonable, service is....well, serviceable. But the food more than makes up for it.
At the Leander Jardin del Ray, the dining area is small, but they have fixed the parking issues mentioned by other posters. Additional parking is available at the auto parts parking lot next door. Some of the parking is even covered! Don't park behind the building, as more often than not there's a breeze carrying the scent of a dumpster from the Quix.
The Liberty Hill location is newer, and boasts a much larger dining area. However, the word is out about this place. Even the larger Liberty Hill location is sometimes crowded.
Awesome food and margaritas!. We loved this place! It is a bit small, and the parking stinks, but the food more than makes up for it!
Great Mexican food and THE BEST MARGARITA ANYWHERE!.
This place has the absolute BEST Margarita around! Go and order the "Top Shelf Margarita" WOW! I really enjoy the pachuga (probably spelled that wrong) chicken and the Chimichanga! You will be hard pressed to find better food, drinks and service in Austin!
The building is old and not very attractive. In fact it looks like a hole in the wall kinda place, but it is good! The parking is horrible, so if you've got a large party it's best to take as few cars as possible.
My favorite Mexican food restaurant in Austin, thats 10 miles outside of Austin.. I just moved out to Leander 4 months ago and was concerned that I'd have to make the drive into Austin everytime I wanted a good restaurant. Jardin Del Rey eliminated that problem. The building is small and doesnt look like much, but the food, service, and price is really what matters here. HUGE menu selection and lots of food for very little. Also the best fajitas I've had since moving here from Houston, so tender you can cut them with a fork. If you live out in Cedar Park/Leander and you havent given them a try yet, do it, you wont regret it. Even if you make the drive from out of town, its worth it. Do yourself a favor and get a table on the patio though since the inside is pretty small and can be crowded.
