Fox and HoundGreat Late Night Drink Specials. I went into fox and hound last tuesday and was pleasantly suprised. there were 36 beers on tap and they were all $2. I mean even the expensive beers like guiness and bass. The bartenders looked like they were having a great time. I talked to the girl bartender for a while even though she seemed very busy. Overall I think this place was awesome and i will be going back
Mediocre Food Served Slowly By Servers Who Don't Care.
I gave it three visits. All three were less than fun, and the last one was an absolute low point. I did not expect fine cuisine, & except for a jillion TVs, did not expect much in the way of atmosphere. I DID expect to be served, served promptly, & with moderate attention to detail. No such luck.
#Last time we stopped in, there was almost no one in the place. We chose a pool table & did our best to flag down a server busy chatting with a bartender. Despite the emptiness, the 2 tables nearest our pool table were filled with dirty glasses & food leftovers, which we pointed out to the server once we got her attention. She nodded & said she'd get it cleared up. She brought our drinks, after they sat ready for more than 4 minutes (we could see them & I timed it) & still left the stuff all over the tables.
#When I again flagged her down (waving my arms to get her attention across the bar) she came over took the order & still left the debris, even after she brought the drinks. The food order took about 25 minutes (a long time considering the crowd) for Quesadillas, Billiard Sticks & Skins. Skins were cold & chewy. Quesadillas pasty & nearly flavorless. Billiard Sticks were kind of good, but could also have been hotter.
#We ordered "another round" (bar speak for "we'd like the same thing again please") and she seemed puzzled by that, asking what we wanted. After we finished a second game of pool with dry glasses I walked over to the bar (about 20 feet away) and ordered drinks from the bartender. Server appeared miffed that we did so, but I explained that we came here to get served and not ignored.
#Overall, food: average to below, atmosphere: TV-land, not much else going on, service: slow and clueless. I miss Waterloo Brewing Company--it made much better use of this site and had better food and service, besides the divine beer. If F&H has a training program, somebody failed.
Pleasant Surprise. I expected an average experience and was very surprised at the quality of food and, even more so, the service. Wait staff was friendly and made the experience more enjoyable.
