Could have been fun, but..... Living in Austin, we NEVER go down to 6th street because, well, we're grown-ups. We were walking past this bar and heard some really good Southland Blues coming from inside so we went in for a drink. Started a tab, and when I went back for a second round I was told I had no tab going.

Turns out they had given away our credit card to someone else. Honest mistake, right? Say you are sorry and offer something in return. Owner couldn't muster the words, only kept telling me that *HE* didn't do it and telling me to cancel the card. I didn't care if he did it or one of his employees, it's bad form today to give someone's credit card to a stranger.

Later, he offered to void the sale and let us drink but at that point we were so irritated we declined staying, still got charged for our first round and the second round of whoever now has the card.

Amateurish. Shame, it could have been fun.

going down, sadly. I hate to dis' one of the only good music bars left on 6th, but their new prices: 18 bucks for two Ziegenbocks and a shot of Stoli will guarantee about six months left in this college town. Yes, that was Ziegenbock--Miller with brown dye in it-- for 5.50 a pint at 7 p.m. I understand you gotta pay the band, but this, Friends, is not the business-savvy way to do it. It probably explains why only tourists were in the joint. And by the way, is it possible to enter the 21st century and provide a decent beer on tap, for maybe 8 bucks a glass?

What a Time we had. We went to Friends on a whim, and we had the one of our best times in Austin. We saw The Erin Jaimes Band. A must see. The folks down at friends were so friendly and aquick to serve us. Thanks from Canada

Friends is a cool place to go!. I went and saw this band called Hellcats....what a great band! Fun place and Jay is so nice! Check their calendar to see whnen that band will be back!

Best place in town Friday and Sat. Nights. Cool relaxed atmosphere... nice healthy drinks! Good music. I love the ambiance. Staff is very friendly....Food would be nice.

live music. For a hometown flavor of Austin, TX, you can't find a better place to listen to live blues, jazz, and rock!

SUNDAY NIGHTS. This is a great spot on Sunday nights for live music...IF you like the BLUES! If you play music outside traditional blues, you're not welcome here and that is SAD! Stevie Ray Vaughan would probably be banned from this club because we ALL know HE played OUTSIDE THE BOX! Get over yourself, there are many types of awesome blues players!!!!!!!!!!!!

How could I have been talked into going?. I thought this would be a good time. My friends talked me into going. I regret it, wholeheartedly. I do not reccomend going, honestly.

Fun Place. I love this bar. Evertime we go there either the live muisc or the the the Djs are great, fun place to hang out or dance. Real friendly stuff also!
