What Our Expert Scouts Say

Teo

Love all the tasty flavors and the relaxed vibe at Teo. Goat cheese and honey is my new favorite combo, enjoyed on the giant patio with good friends (and second helpings).

Teo is a quaint little gelato and coffee shop with so many flavor choices, you'll be glad they allow 2-3 flavors depending on size. Combine rich and fruity flavors for maximum YUM.

In a city that loves new, Teo is one of those tucked-away Austin classics. Their secret 500-recipe gelato book inspires creative flavors every single day, my favorites being Coconut and Salted Caramel.

Family-friendly Gelato Spot. Need a kid-friendly spot to relax with a good cup of coffee and gelato? Teo has you covered. Flavors like Cookies and Cream will satisfy little ones, while grown-ups might opt for salted caramel. Yum!

Best Italian Coffee & gelato in Austin. I think Teo's is a great place. I am sorry that a few short-term employees want to complain about their experience. It has NOTHING TO DO WITH GREAT COFFEE. I think there's a reason why they are 'short term'...Don't be distracted. Go, go now and enjoy!

Disappointed to say the least.... Drinks were good but not sure I'll be returning. The owner seems like a jackass to the patrons and employees. Not impressed.

EXTREMELY RUDE OWNER!. I stopped in today for a gelato and was absolutely appalled at the way the owner treated a (former?) employee. He argued with the young girl in front of us at the counter and refused to pay her for her work. He was extremely rude and cold. You could not pay me to support this company!

Homemade whip cream on my mocha. I had to cash a check at Frost bank and next door is the gelato/coffee shop my friends have told me to try. It was worth it...and iced mocha with real chocolate and real whip cream! The man behind the counter made the best drink, ever! I will go back. They ran out of breakfast tacos - good thing I had my breakfast already. They were starting to bring out what looks like tasty gelato.....open til 12am tonight...i'll go back!

Great place to be and enjoy myself. I went there the other day at the advice of a friend. It was fun to hang out on the patio and watch the people talk, play games, read and just hang out. The gelato was really good. I am not an expert but I enjoyed the peanut butter with nutella and root beer gelato. Not a coffee drinker so I had their iced green tea with mojito mint (the owner told me to get this - add a lot of lemons and it is perfect). The owner's kids were having fun playing and others were watch the Tour de France...I like this place and will go back.

Teo is Fabulous. I can't say enough wonderful things about Teo. Not only are the coffee and gelato exceptional, but Matthew and Anna, the owners, couldn't be more gracious and warm hosts to every customer. Every time I walk into Teo I feel at home and I'm greeted with a smile. The gelato is to die for (try the Bananas Foster!!!)....and the coffee is consistent and truly the best in Austin... by far my #1 vote for gelato and coffee in Texas...

Great flavors True to what they should be. All of the gelato flavors taste like they should taste. They don't have that sugary fake taste that many ice cream or gelatos have. If it's supposed to be mango, then it tastes exactly like a mango. It's really amazing. I'm also a big fan of anything with nutella, and fortunately there's almost always something there with some of that chocolate hazelnut goodness mixed in.

I also love the espresso drinks. I was a coffee only drinker before I started going here, and now I'm ruined for all other espresso places.

It's worth the drive! Fantastic!. Wow...I can't say enough about this place! I just wish it was closer to me (I live in DS) I love the fact that it's "slow food"...vs "fast food". The flavors are so intense! If you know anything about food, you really appreciate the time and devotion and expense it takes to create such delights. I love having friends and their kids try it and see the reaction on the faces. The personal interest in my life that the owner, Teo, expresses is just a joy and refreshing. As a business owner, myself, I know that with all the demands needed/expected to run a successful business with such attention to detail is all consuming. The fact that he, stops, and takes time to chat is often amazing to me. I watch as "novices" come in and the many free samplings they take to decide (most are very appreciative) sometime a few wonder why it takes "2 seconds longer" to prepare their coffee/pannini...I guess they're used to fast tasteless food. But then the smile of bliss with their fist taste always wins them over! Open one in Dripping!

Go Teo Go. I go to Teo once or twice a week and love their skinny latte and currant scone. They maintain a friendly, comfortable environment to hold an informal business meeting or to just surf the internet. They post sections of the Wall Street Journal on their "news wall" with paperclips, which is a great way to get caught up on the day's news before I head out to the office.
