Best Late Nite spot i have found so far. I finally found a place to party! It seems to get started off a little later than the rest of 6th street. I love the chilled out hours before the DJ gets going. good time to meet up with friends and catch up on gossip. The bartenders are always smiling and helpful, really good shots and an awesome selection of my favorite spirits. After the DJ gets started the people slowly start wandering in and the party really gets buzzing. Birthdays, Bachelorette parties, very well dressed ladies, and lots of good looking guys. Such a cool little joint. The bartenders know my drink and name, door guys are fun and friendly, DJs are rocking, and the owners are spoken highly of by the staff. Good drink prices or specials. BUT THE BARTENDERS ARE TRULY WONDERFUL AND THE REAL REASON I WILL CONTINUE DROPPING MY PAYCHECK THERE

BEST BAR/CLUB IN AUSTIN, GUARANTEED TO HAVE A GREAT TIME!. I think you were in the wrong spot, if you voted less than 5 stars. Yes, the bar opens at 9, but honestly who wants a hyped up scene right at 9. The reason why I love this bar so much, is because after work I can go to a happy hour with the team from work, and if a few of us want to go somewhere after happy hour, we'll head over to Firehouse. It's clean, it's cozy, at 9 it's not too loud, the bar staff is friendly and hot, and on a couple of occassions I've gone there alone. I don't mind heading there alone, because I know the barstaff will keep me company until my friends get there, or I meet new ones. It's an awesome place to be yourself at. Single, Married, Dating, Gay/Lesbian/Bi/Confused/Straight, it doesn't matter. It's a very mature 21+ bar, with a healthy, fun, and beautiful environment. Everyone I bring into Firehouse is always impressed with the bartenders, because they shake your hand, they greet you by name, and they don't forget it, another reason why I like to arrive early. They even remember what you drink, and as the night picks up, they don't push anyone aside or go over anyone. They serve the prepared and the unprepared, the known and unknown equally. The weekend bartenders at Firehouse, Charmai and Paul, are so good that when multitasking, they don't lose the quality of service when serving the quantity, or losing the fun behind the bar. Closing out tabs is never an issue, you don't have to wait long. Walking up to the bar, ordering, receiving and payment exchange never takes more than 2 minutes. Amy's an amazing waitress, if you don't want to head to the bar. The ladies room has free "things" for those emergencies. The DJs are perfectly picked for each night of the week. It's never a dull moment. The bar is full of friendly, happy, pretty people, never violent, or ugly, with a barstaff that always treats me like I own the bar. Try to get that somewhere else. Go meet my friends Sarah, Amy, Jeff, Raf, Charmai, and Paul.

this place is lame. loud, expensive, not very consistent crowds. dead scene, really. it may look crowded when you walk by, but that's only because people are standing outside smoking.

A piece of architectural history transforms into a modern, well-designed bar.. In Short
The Firehouse Lounge sits tucked just off Sixth Street in a former fire station built in 1885. The subtle entrance leads into a dimly lit, terra-cotta-toned room. Like hip bars in the Warehouse District, the mood implies stylish indulgence for the hip, laid-back clientele. Taller-than-normal bar stools offer seating, as do inviting booths lining the opposing wall. Chic, sheer draperies, decorative pillows and mod chairs add a Middle Eastern feel.
