not that great. If you like a place with music so loud that you can't converse with friends (even if you yell) and where the drinks are average at best, then Firehouse is for you. I suppose it is a good place for dancing. There is not much seating either.

This is a good spot for two people to go...you must sit close to talk to each other!

Have become regulars!. The Firehouse has great staff, friendly and welcoming door staff, and some of the coolest, most laid back bar owners I've ever met. Put all this together with great drinks, trendy music, awesome big name guest dj's, and entertaining events and the Firehouse has no problem holding it's own! Well worth fighting downtown traffic and parking. Can be a short wait at door, this place is popular! Thanks for helping return Austin's bar and club scene back to how we all learned to love it!

Happy Medium. The atmosphere is great! Staff is incredibly friendly. The door guys even wanted to know my name...Whudda concept! All the charm and swankyness of the 4th st. area without all the pretention. Bartender also make great drinks. A little more pricey than other bars on 6th, but it's well worth it. No irritating "velvet rope" policy that seems to plague the 4th st. area now.

More than a bar. The bar tenders are the big draw to this new hang out. I loved the drinks, the atmosphere and the owners can always be found on the floor...shaking hands, making sure everyone is having a good time. I would highly recommend checking out this bar, it has much more to offer than the mundane six street crowd.
