Wonderful Shop, Great Customer Service!

I have been shopping with Pam M from Gifts Ala Mode for several years now. I love art glass and collect all things Fenton. She not only makes you feel at home, she also goes out of her way to get you what you want. My husband and I shop with her anytime we have a special occassion. She has NEVER let us down. For long time customers, she will even meet you there and let you shop. It is unfortunate that anyone would add insult to injury by stealing from these nice people after their misfortune. Setting the record right...

In January 2010, the shopping center, where Gifts A'la Mode is located, suffered massive water damage. Water pipes froze and exploded. This caused flooding from the attic throughout the two story building, even into the parking lot. All the tenants of the damaged building had to remove their furnishings, office equipment, and inventories from the two story building located right next to Gifts A'la Mode.

Items were placed in the parking lot and on the porch of both buildings during January and February; for the assessment and documentation of damages.

A large (4foot by 6 foot) NO TRESPASSING sign mounted on a truck trailer, attached to a Ford 'SUV' was placed at the entrance to the parking lot to discouraged traffic into the parking lot.

Unfortunately, even with extended security, we experienced looting and stealing.

Any person coming into the area legitimately was offered a polite explanation of what had occurred, and given information regarding location of the displaced tenant(s). NO persons or vehicles were ever touched by me or any of the people helping with the clean-up efforts.

Gifts A'la Mode is currently not open regular hours. We may be reached on the business phone at (512)257-3309, or go to our Giftsalamode website.

The center, with the former tenants, is scheduled to reopen later this year.

Drive on by. You are not welcome there.

They have a banner with their website on it, saying shop online, but I couldn't make out the webaddress from the street, plus since I was right there I figured I'd just drive into the parkinglot and see if it was even worth going on line to check out. I am looking to refurnish my whole apartment so if I could find good stuff at a good price I'm all about it... and with the shabby looking conditions from the street I figured their stuff can't be too expensive. As I was saying. I pulled into the small parking lot just for a quick view, I didn't even put my car in park, and this angry looking elderly woman storms upto my car, puts her hand on my hood and trys to block me from leaving. She then proceeds to yell at me for driving into her parking lot. Obviously they don't know how to do business with the public as the don't want people on their 'land' yet don't make their contact info visible from the street. By the way, the quick view I got most of the items seemed like real junk.

• Pros: You can see the junk available from the street
• Cons: It's JUNK. Rude lady. No sense of customer service

Stop in - Don't drive by!

To be offered irish coffee and tidbits in honor of St. Patrick's day as I shop?.. now that was unique!!! and I hear they treat customers like this several times a year. This place was quite a find! Wonderful gift assortment... lots to choose from.... a gift shopper's paradise! It was impossible to see everything in one visit..

Owners couldn't have been any nicer. I'll definitely be back!

What a GREAT find! You'd never know they had so many treasures inside!!! FUN FUN FUN

I accidently found this GEM of a giftshop ~ and boy is it filled with wonderful things! It's a shoppers paradise. I chatted with the owner awhile and she's a pleasure...all in all this is a really great shop. They EVEN giftwrap (who does that anymore??). If you're looking for Fenton Glass, Boyd's bears, jewelery, etc. look no further...they've got it all!!

• Pros: GREAT selection of gifts - something for everyone (holiday stuff year-round) & they giftwrap!!!
