Love the atmosphere. Nice, high end establishment. Food and service pretty good, as expected for the price range. Worth a visit.
Bad Service and Worse Food. The wait staff was totally incompetent and several errors were made on our order. Our waiter could not make a recommendation to save his life. The food itself was way over priced and mediocre at best. We ordered several rolls and one of the "chef specials". My wife made the comment that it was the worst sushi she had ever eaten and that the pre-packaged stuff at the HEB grocery store was better. I have to agree with her assessment. We would not recommend this place to anybody!!
Love the Sushi!. The sushi was the best I've had in Austin so far. I loved the "Finn". It was fresh and uniquely prepared. Daily specials are offered and several at the table raved about the filet stuffed with crab meat. Great spot for a special evening or for a business dinner--I might have to just grab sushi at the sushi bar on my next visit.
Wonderful seafood experience. We went on a night that was quite busy and our meal took a while to arrive. Our waitress was very helpful and even brought us something extra for our troubles. We will visit again.
Great place. Great service staff. We had dinner in one of the new private dining rooms (table of ten, highly suggest securing the "small PDR" for a group this size, our waiter Doug was fantastic. Both the General Manager Jason and the Chef Ryan visited our table. We opted for the sushi platter as a starter and then I chose the roasted duck breat as my entree. While the food was exceptional, I found the wine list diverse with many great wines by the glass. My wife and I chose an Albarino at the staff's suggestion and it was absolutely delightful. (without breaking the bank). Highly recommend and we'll be back!
love This Place!. This restaurant is always a great experience! They have wonderful Salmon, & the sushi is excellent! The 1/2 price sushi happy hour is worth a visit! The atmosphere is elegant but not stuffy. This is my first choice for a nice dinner with friends or my husband in downtown Austin!
Amazing Dinner & Excellent Service!. We went in with a group of 12 total for a nice dinner. We were seated in the semi private dining room and taken care of very well. Our servers were polite, attentive, & truly concerned about our comfort. Our group sampled everything from the calamari, to sushi, to the Trio-of steak, lobster & a crab cake! It was AMAZING. My hawaiin mahi mahi was fresh and perfectly prepared. Everything was exactly as I would expect from a fine dining establishment. I look forward to my next meal at Finn & Porter. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful evening.
awful dining experience from beginning to end. Wow!! What a mistake! My husband and I came here based on the decent reviews and couldn't have been more dissapointed. The waitstaff was unknowledgable, sloppy, and slow. The waiter knew nothing about wine and brought our drinks out 15 minutes after our dinner. My husband's dish was cold and had old mussells in it and mine had to be sent back because it was so off!! All in all a really bad experience for a fine dining establishment. There are so many other fantastic places in Austin. Don't waste your time or the hefty valet parking fee!!! :o(
