Tips for Inviting Affairs

LITTLE PIECES OF ART!. Before Inviting Affairs, I dreaded the idea of choosing my wedding invitations from a pre-made pile of lovely but unoriginal designs. The store is lined- almost literally- with stationary, and the shelves on the back wall are filled from floor to ceiling with invitation sample books. Needless to say, there is a huge selection here. I thumbed through several of those example books and realized that I was never going to be happy with a pre-made design. This is my own personal flaw and should not reflect on the selection of the store! When I explained my dilemma, one of the ladies there mentioned that Emma did “custom designs”. The rest is history. I’m a pretty creative gal, but I NEVER could have come up with the many clever touches that made our wedding invites little pieces of art. Thank you to Emma, Michelle and all of the little elves you have hiding in the back for making me a very happy bride-to-be!

Love, Love, Love!. Our save the dates were so adorable. The proofing process was easy & they were very flexible. They have a ton of options. Visiting the shop really opened my eyes to the many options available out there. I'm sure I will use them again & again even after the wedding.

Helpful and nice!. They were very helpful and made it easy to order my invitations. The first set that I ordered didn't look right in the color I chose for the wording and they recognized this immediately and reordered replacements right away so there would be plenty of time to get them sent out. Very nice work.

Quality Service. Lindsey at Inviting Affairs is the girl in the know! She was so helpful in assisting us and made sure that we had exactly what we wanted. When our invitations first were printed, our pale pink ink turned out dark red (not what we wanted) and we were a bit skeptical. Then Lindsey assured us that we would be taken care of and when we got our invitations completed they were BEYOND perfect. I was so happy with the way all of my wedding stationary turned out and would recommend Inviting Affairs to any Austin bride.

Wow that is so much easier than I thought!. I had to plan my wedding in short notice and was really stressed out. I was really in a hurry to order and send invitations out. My friend had told me about Inviting Affairs so I called and made an appointment. They had many helpful suggestions, including custom designing an invitation. They helped me choose a style that fit the theme of my wedding. They also helped me write the invitations and answered questions about etiquette. They really rushed to get my order done and was always letting me know where we were in the process. . This saved me a huge amount of time and worry. I feel very satisfied with the way they handled my business. I will be for sure referring all of my friends and family.

I too had a bad experience. For my wedding, I worked with Marissa to create my invitations, wedding programs and place cards.

Working with Marissa in general was difficult as she was distracted and did not take the time to focus on me, including taking phone calls during our meetings and casually chatting with co-workers. Also, she mentioned how she was juggling kids and other activities at home while designing my wedding invitations and programs. It was not surprising then that there was a typo in the programs that was not there in the draft I gave to her. Unfortunately, neither of us caught the mistake before the programs were printed. I was upset when I noticed the error given that I had to assemble all of the programs and did not have time to wait for them to be printed again. I called my wedding coordinator, as she had recommended Marissa, and the coordinator arranged for her and Marissa to assemble the programs for me to make up for time lost in re-printing.

Everything turned out fine but the work seems to be careless and the owner is absentminded.

Best Place for Wedding Invitations!!. I was recently married and used Inviting Affairs for my invitations. They went above and beyond to make the process as easy as possible for me. They always called or emailed to check up and make sure everything was on track. When I pick up my invitations they were PERFECT!!! Words cannot express how impressed and stunned I was with them. They were professional, on time, and really cared about how the invitations turned out and they were what I was looking for. My wedding planner says they are the best in the business and I am so happy that I decided to use them. They may be a small operation, but they have amazing knowledge and great employees.

Love my wedding invitations!. I just used Inviting Affairs for my wedding invitations and they turned out perfect! I can not tell you how happy I am with my wedding invitations. Inviting Affairs is the only place to go in Austin for wedding invitations. There selection is amazing compared to all the other places in Austin. They also work with you to create a custom invitation if you can not find what you are looking for. The prices are so fair as well. They really have fair prices and I was able to get a invitation I loved in my budget. Their customer service is also so great. Communcation was never a problem and their location is so covenient to my work and home. I can not wait to go back and do my programs. Weddings are so fun! I will miss all the planning because everyone I have worked with has made it so easy!

Give yourself a lot of lead time. My experience here was mixed. I had several problems in the beginning but they worked hard to correct them.

Pros:

The store is cute and filled with great ideas.

You can also order invitations in smaller quantities, which was great for me. (no 150 card minimums like a lot of other places)

The staff is friendly

Cons:

Calligraphy turn-around is slow
