Neighborhood Feel – Drop by this neighborhood deli for a quick and tasty Gyro or Shwarma. You might even rediscover your Greek side. Easy to find at Hancock and Northloop. First visit, so I haven't tried the other Greek stuff yet but they sure made a good impression - fresh warm pita, tender and plentiful roast beef, lettuce and tasty Tahini Sauce. The owner will crack you up while he's putting your lunch together.
great gyros – If you are looking for a great gyro made quickly, yet delivered fresh, this is it. I love the owners and although there isn't huge variety here, perhaps that is why they do so well what they do have. There is no pretentiousness here. It's a place to get tasty and delicious sandwich with no-frills prices.
A previous reviewer mentioned a lack of ambiance. If you are looking for linen tablecloths and candlelit dining, you don't normally go to a restaurant attached to a convenience store! This is a great hole-in-the-wall place.
mmmm greek food – I found AGD about 2 years ago and love the place. Even if I am not hungry I go there just to hang out and laugh with the owner!! I am an ornament at the deli. I love the Souvlaki and the Gyro. I am a pain in the butt customer and he will ALWAYS make my food just the way I want it, regardless......
The food is fresh and it is ALWAYS good. I do not worry about the price becauase as they always say you pay for what you get... The quality is the best.
I have been a patron to Phonecia as well as Milto's in Houston and I would have to say hands down, due to the service and the quality of the food this IS the best place in town to eat greek!!
The owner is always happy and is actually from Greece which makes a real difference to me and my taste buds!!
Good Greek food in North Central Austin – This place has some pretty good Greek food, but it is quite pricy. The souvlaki costs almost twice as much as what you can get at Milto's, but it is pretty much the same. They do have some great spanikopita and falafel, though. The man who owns the restaurant is quite friendly and provides great service.
