Editorial Review for Athenian Grill – by Susan Kirr
In Short
During the week, this casual eatery caters to those working and living downtown. A buffet dominates the front entrance, ideal for those on lunch breaks. Things are livelier on weekends--the place is packed on Saturday nights. A mezze platter is a spread of dolmades, stuffed with rice and scented beef and cool tzatziki dip. The moussaka piles super-thin layers of eggplant and potato over spiced ground beef, all topped with a creamy, cheesy bechamel sauce.

Insider Tips
What to DrinkThere's not much available by the glass, but try ordering a bottle of the Makedonikos Tsantali, a red Greek table wine, for $25. There's also freshly squeezed lemonade and Greek coffee.
Know Before You GoLunch is served cafeteria style, 11am-5pm, and features such dishes as roasted chicken, gyros, soups and salads.

I have never been to this restaurant, but the one time I tried to go it was closed. They are moving to a new location and the move seems to be taking forever, so if you are planning on going there I strongly suggest calling ahead to make sure they are open before making your way down town. I have heard great things about the food though...

This is an outstanding place to eat - great lunch deal. Lunch is cafeteria style... Dont order off the menu at lunch like moron user below did are, of course, it will take too long. Dinner is excellent as well - menu here. Food is not good for you, but excellent tasting. However standard greek salad for lunch is pretty healthy... Lunch is quick, in and out, and comes in at under $10 usually. If you work downtown, you are doing yourself a huge disfavor by not going here. I dont, but I go out of my way to eat here anyway. I have never had an issue with getting sick here, like those below, but I suppose anything is possible. However, I have eaten at this place way more times than most and never had an issue. Highly recommended. These guys are now moving, somewhere away from Colorado - how sad.
